Beautiful pictures everyone. My CY/EOS adapter with Optix v5+ from ebay seller gifts_hunter arrived today. A question for Optix V5+ users. What figure will you input for focal length as this is not a fix lens? How about for the aperture setting?

Thank you.
I programed my Optix V5 to 3570mm and F3.5.
That way I will easily see what lens used in the EXIF.
Wow, got some interest on that one - thanks guys - always appreciate the support! I'm going to re-process a few of these and work on some of the highlights and shadows - if they are any better I'll post an edit.
I was shooting a waterfall behind this view in a drizzling rain and turned around to find this huge cloud rolling through the valley below. The dissappearing stream is the edge of a 30 foot waterfall. Unfortunately I did not have an ND and tried to make due with a polarizer and a couple of stacked GND's witch added too much magenta. There is a pink setting sun behind the cloud mess'in with the white balance.

Can I ask where you were when you took this one?
Neal
Neal,
That is in the Ouray Colorado area just east of town in the Amphitheater area upper falls. The view is looking northwest. The San Juans are one of the most beautiful places on earth - well worth a visit but very hard to leave - I'm going back at the end of the week - the "Golden Leaves" are calling!
So - what is it with the Contax Vario-sonnar 35-70/3.4 - four to five months ago you couldn't find one and the selling prices were in the $600-735 usd range. Now they are common on Ebay - a primo condition sold yesterday for $363 w/ box and there are at least 6-7 on Ebay now.
Something tells me this thread had something to do with the price spike!
Also the VS 28-85 / 35-135 & 70-200 are showing up in good condition, multiple quantities for the lowest prices I've ever seen. A good time to buy if they are on "the list".
Test setup I just did to find out if there's any focus shift when zooming. 70mm, 50mm, 35mm, all f/3.4. Images are cropped to size. Only the zoom setting has been changed between the shots. If anything, the plane of focus moves a hair closer to the camera on 50mm, on 35mm it's spot-on again. For all practical purposes this lens is parfocal, which is really nice for manual focus. Also, no field curvature whatsoever. Shots were taken close to MFD.
Yes - I noticed this quite a while ago and use it as a means of focusing that lens - though the reliability of that method has been downplayed by others. It may not "technically" be parfocal [parafocal] it works as well as a good AF confirm chip. Thanks for taking the time to do such a test - that grid mat looks like a useful tool - interesting subject.
