Is there anyone use it with Nikon body?
Compare to Nikon counterpart like Nikon 24-70mm, Does it worth the hassle to use this lens on Nikon body?
Thanks

I don't dare to post the full shot here, but this is a stitch of 8 exposures. Handheld. View from 22nd story of Mark City building over Shibuya, Harajuku and Shinjuku:

http://www.3byk.org/gallery2/d/5256-2/IMG_0382-89f.jpg

The larger size shot is at www.3byk.org/gallery2/v/Dmitri_Reyer/panorama/IMG_0382-89f.jpg.html

Obviously, 35-70/3.4 and perhaps less obviously at f5.6

Not seeing your image for some reason, Krosavcheg.

Edit: Link works fine though.

That's a shame. I think it's my .htaccess blocking direct linking to items into the gallery. But if I just paste the link FM omits the last .html and attempts to post the image..
sorry about that...

The shot has not been PP'd very much - which actually stunned me by the 35-70 IQ and detail level! Focus to infinity never fails...hehehe

Presently using this lens as a walkaround. It never ceases to amaze me (when you get the focus right that is..)..

Krosavcheg,
You can add www.fredmiranda.com to the "Allow empty referer" list to allow direct links from your gallery2:

Site Admin --> URL Rewrite --> Set up tab then check "Allow empty referer?" and add a new site.

Regards,
P

Nice one! Thanks a bunch - will try to configure now. I think menalto's gallery is using own re-write rules...will check there first!

If you want the look and flexibility...it is well worth it. I have it on a D700 and admit I need to use it more. I have never had the Nikon 24-70 (didn't want it....too big) but the resolution from the 35-70 should be better than the 24-70. The 35-70 beats the pants off most primes out there.

Doesn't Nikon adaptation require surgery? Just curious. I saw few adaptors for Nikon, though with optical element.

Did you check the instructions on the leitax website? It does seem to be quite a hassle to install the Leitax mount...

I have a Leitax/Nikon-mount converted 35-70. All "special" treatment that is required is the relocation of a small spring in order to pull the aperture lever in the opposite direction as described on the Leitax website. The spring has a little bit of glue on the attachment points that needs to be removed, but overall it is not a really big deal and fully reversible as well. Not recommended for those who have never worked on flimsy mechanical stuff though..

Hah!
Way too predictable.
They both arrive at the same day!
Haha.
Shrug, gives me another excuse to purchase another c/y lens!

Well this sucks.
It is killing me to not be able to use this lens.
I am stilling waiting for the adapter from Hong Kong, sigh...
Is there a US purchase place for a cheap, cannot afford an expensive one right now, C/Y adapter?
But then, as soon as I purchase this, the other will arrive?
Sigh...

Uhm, so now I this mounted, how do I unmount this thing?
Lens from adapter, that is, I don't see a lever button, or whatever.
Sigh...

There is a small metal spring at the bottom of the adaptor locking to the mount. You need to push it outwards in order to remove the adaptor from the lens.

Wow, not reallyliking this.
I bet I over tightened it when putting it on.
I guess you can do this, yes?

Got it !
Thanks!
What a crappy design.
How did it dismount from the camera originally?
Man the Mamiya adapters are MUCH better!

I am not sure about what adaptor you are using, but mine does not require any tightening at all - it just clicks in place and the spring locks to the grove on the actual lens mount. I just use a small screw driver and gently push the spring outwards on the rare occasions I need to remove the adaptor.
Hope it helps.

Yeah, I over tightened the first one.
I bent the metal spring on that one, it was canted.
Luckily two came in on the same day, eh?
Anywho, I got the second one on now, and I didn't use "excessive" tightening this time!
Not that I thought I used excessive force on the first one...

exactly right. I am actually on my 2nd 'leitaxed' 35-70. the first one I didn't realize there was glue on the spring and lets just say things got messy. I actually had to keep the old, bended spring hanging inside the lens and attach a new one Plus I scratched the hell out of the rear optic cover. Here are some surgery pics:

http://rsolti.smugmug.com/photos/904899575_quMBb-XL.jpg

BUT....that certainly didn't affect the picture quality. Oh yeah, I also forgot to cover the optics when I was 'messing' around. See the dust that got in:

http://rsolti.smugmug.com/photos/904899597_2jujC-XL.jpg

Seriously, never saw any impact to photos with that dust.
