Andrew,
Great blossoming dogwood shots!
Interesting to know that the dogwood trees there in Sequoia peaked a lot later than the ones in Yosemite.
I went to Yosemite the Sunday before Memorial Day to take shots of the blossoming dogwoods and got a few shots but alot of them were slightly past peak/fresh bloom status. The best is when the blooms first come out and there are no leaves yet. I was hoping for nice cloudy weather but got a little more than that as it sleeted heavily on me and when I heard thunder I decided to get out of the forest and try the tunnel view. We luckily got some incredible lighting and even a rainbow over the valley for a brief half minute as the storm clouds and sun battled it out.
although zeiss lenses are known by thier excellent microcontrast, i must say that there are much more microcontrast in distant objects in many photos seen in "landscape photographer"
how can we reach this? by pp or what?
thanks in advance

Andrew, What amazing shots!!! ( Got lazy, first looked with IE8, then FF colours just came alive )
Thank you guys, sorry for the inconvenience, but it's in ProPhoto RGB.
As all my pictures are
Yosemite? Where exactly in Yosemite can you see dogwoods?
I would love to find a place where you could catch some water
in the background maybe? Or anything nicely green.
Yosemite is such a dry place usually, don't like it too much...
On a side note, there is an incredible number of grizzly bears out there
this year. On our last 3 visits to Sequoias in one week, we saw them
each time, very close. Some crazy young ones
We even stepped on a place where a bear clearly sleeps, that was a bit
scary... But after my trip to Katmai a few years ago, I'm very familiar
with them and we learned so much about them out there in Alaska.
A great experience, each time. I love those animals.
Polarizers? Which ones? I recently purchased a 21 ZE and I am planning on getting a Marumi Super DHG for this lens. Any other suggestions?
And how about for 35 and 100 MP. I already have a B+W 77 CPL. I am thinking of using step down rings and use this CPL for both lenses. As I understand, if I go this route, I cannot use the respective hoods. So, this brings me to another question, how many of you shoot with hoods on and also use a polarizer ? It feels like they are almost mutually exclusive.
I will really appreciate helpful comments and suggestions. Thanks in advance.
I never use a Polarizer. The color is already richly saturated with Zeiss lenses and blue skys are deep blue. Try the lens first and see what you think.

I don't use a polarizer but do use a 2 stop ND Grad. I use the Tiffen 82mm Digital HT Color Graduated ND .6 (4x) filter. I actually have it for sale here if interested.
Here is the result....able to shoot into the sun with great results:

I know you didn't ask me, but I have the Marumi Super DHG for the 21, and I think it works great. Actually I prefer it over the B+W Kaesemann MC, b/c it's not as opaque.
As others have mentioned CPs arn't really necessary to achieve vibrate colors, but it is helpful when shooting on bright days or into the sun.
Thank you rsolti and swolfcg. I understand Zeiss lenses don't need a polarizer to get saturated colors. I intend to filter out some reflected light. How is one able to do this without a polarizer ? I know Nik offers a photographic (s/w) filter which attempts to emulate a polarizer. Or do you folks have some PP tricks?
