I visited London over an extended weekend this last one. Oh man, what potential for streetphotography! I couldn't really take advantage of it as I was there with my girlfriend, but my fingers itched all weekend through.
Coming from some backwater capital like Stockholm I'm envious of you guys living in 'real' cities. I had more photo-ops in London during an hour than I have in in Stockholm during a year.
Anyway, I wanted to travel light and only brought the 2/28, 2/35 and 1.4/50 but only used the 28 (there is almost nothing as too wide in cities in my experiences).
Anyway, as I said, didn't have opportunity to take many 'street' photos, but I manage a handful of which I've only edited one really
@ Rodluvan : yep it sucks when you live yearly in an area rather narrow in photographic " gamut " whereas there are other places like candy stores on steroids
And I agree : on cities wide is recommended !
The good news is that you don't have to travel that much to have a taste of the real thing : no tourists there in the pic under ( 5D3 + [email protected] )
Jochenb : I'am not a dog fan, not into portrait at all, hate over 99+ % of B&W pics ( sorry ) but your portrait of " Iza " is just uber top notch
Same for Lieutenant Z Jaguar shot : a car transformed into a multi mirror / color array !
Some of the images that really stood out for me were the architectural shots by nicoimages, fall color by akul, beach shot by masterchef, orange flower shot by user222, building and ship shot by JonaHill, and architecture shot by Picture This.
Here's a shot with a Zeiss 21/2.8 and D800 in Shenandoah with Heliopan ND.
User222, thanks. Sadly, those two lenses were rentals. I have a lens rental company a few miles from my house, so I can test drive potential purchases often. The 2/25 and 2/50 are both on my purchase list. At least from this outing, I preferred my Leica to the 2/100 for macro work.
