Just recently got my first Zeiss, the ZE 18/3.5. I'm loving it so far, and it's a great challenge to work with. It's my first ultra wide angle, as well as my first manual focus. It really forces me to step outside my usual mode of thinking.
Here's one of the first pictures I've taken with it and really felt good about. Had a shoot yesterday, but I haven't had a chance to go through those pictures yet.
Itruong8, Amaji, JimmyD, prosep, Lars - Thank you !
Edgecrusher - Beautiful graduation of color from the lake shot. Very nice. (page 705) Also enjoy the rock and the castle composition with 28. There is something dreamy about the shot, which is very nice.
Bob - I really like the B/W urban fragmented light post shadow. It reminds me of a Hitchcock movie.
Smridevan - Great to see your work again. Very nice pov for the bridge shot from Vancouver. I like the natural tone very much. The shot of the bay reminded me of the time I visited there many years ago. At that time, there were hundreds of windsurfers out, but that was in summer.
prosep- Gorgeous series of flowers. Cactus flower shot is really nice. I like the expressive bokeh in the back making the composition.
Lars - I think you made the right decision on the cutting the top of the pot on this composition. It does not bother me at all. Beautiful rendition of materiality.
Ulff - That is a picture perfect pond. Interesting architecture.
weissj - Congrats on your ZE18. BW is doing great on this shot. It almost felt like it was a IR image. It is not too often to see ZE18 images here, and it would be great to see more examples. Every now and then I get the itch to get 18, but it feels it is a bit too close to 21, and 15 is just too expensive for me, as I am already struggling with 21. May be I get a Samyang and be done with the SUW department.
mike - Impeccable flower shots. Great color saturation and composition. All of them are great, but the last one is stunning!
AMaj - Beautiful rose shot. Very nice soft lighting too.
Lieutenant - Great set. #3 and #4 are just fabulous capture. On #3, I can almost feel the pressure of the screw driver biting into my thumb.
