twoeye; hmm, considering the distance from branch to tree in background and size of bokeb "balls" I would most probably shoot little closer (==>bigger bokeh balls) and with f/2.8 to avoid catseye and get round balls. Also would have adjusted black levels little up (adding contrast). Composition point of view it might have worked better to put the bright vertical area more towards left or avoid it somehow. Great photo anyway! Considering Finland population density I'm pretty sure we have room for few more photographers in the forests...
Gunzorro, "The Volvo shot is technically excellent, but boring subject matter -- no offence, just a nice industrial shot. " - yes I think the "crown" of this shot is the bright red/white striped cone in middle of picture, which is slightly off-focus
Jim, Mercedes & Red door shots; very bright and pure colours. Also the blue, white red shoe was nice, thou it begs to be presented in larger size, too much detail for small size.
Lars, 1st of the 85P shots was nice (the curve of corridor combined to tile/patterns in floor)
John, like the composition (little tight on left thou) but 2.8/25 rendering surprises me - I would have assumed different rendering based on my experiences of C/Y version of this lens. Other 2.8/25ZF samples have been very similar to what I would expect C/Y version to do.
Gunzorro, Helena, akul and other Green Jugs fans I checked shots from that old shoot and found 5 more of green jugs theme [was very bored and really wanted to do something creative, it was late (low light) and raining (raining so much that I actually had to use rainsleeve, in small rain I typically just wipe the drops from lens every now and then), but had to shoot something...]
I hope I never anymore have to post green jugs after this, thou I was laughing my ass off while processing these... All Distagon 2/35, wide open, ISO 200 around 1/50-1/80
Yes, it's evident that distortion correction is at work here - no moustache waves in the horizontal lines. The standard Lightroom profile for this lens do it for me. I use it regularly when architecture is involved.
Twoeye: nice 3D in the tree shot.
Jim Schemel: The Mercedes shot, of course. Also the red door, converse shoes, beer bottle. All outstanding.
Lars: the monk statue close up has very nice rendering.
Samuli: your green jugs 1st shots has good pop.
Ulff: outstanding shot.
Gary Clennan: Love those B/W shots.
Jim: great usage of the 50P, yes me likes the merc too
Ulff: amazing detail in the arab wall, almost hurt to look at, awesome
Frezeiss: boats, you have done some special tasteful processing there, apart from great comps.
Samuli: your green can attack finally hit me, I am starting to like them :-)
I hope it's cook to ask some questions here, I'll include a ZM picture just in case.
OK, so how exactly does the ZM50P compare to the 50MP at 1+ meters? Are they similar only in focal length and max aperture?
Secondly, I've heard many people say the ZM50P is the best 50 they've ever used. I've always wondered though, because it doesn't exactly have the best MTFs in the world, what exactly that's about. Is this a case of the MTF failing to accurately predict performance? Or is the lens better at close range vs infinity? Or maybe it's just a matter of sharpest not being the best?
Gary, nice B&W shots from Ta Prohm! I was there a few years ago and need to return back to processing and printing some shots from that trip. Very cool place but the DR of the scenes there make it difficult to shoot there. B&W is the usual choice which helps with the usually over-exposed overhead tree branches and sky parts of the shots.
Samuli -- I love this set! You've proven out my initial reaction to the first one. My favorite of the second set is (of course!) the one with the orange jug -- I can only describe it as providing insouciant humor. Charming and witty, with a touch of sarcasm.
On the technical side, I like your extra warm color balance with the golden touch even in the pavement -- it really brings out the greens, and makes what could be a cool, drab cemetary picture into that pleasant twist I mentioned above -- just little twist on what must be seen in a completely different way by so many thousands of visitors over time.
Having seen many of your other subjects, these jugs show a different aspect of your observations and approach. I like the whole package.
And about your Volvo shot -- I agree with the other postings -- very well done and has a great "pop". But little personality.
I will always remember you with a smile for your green jugs! Thanks for digging out the other shots -- all very nice to see.
Dalmas, thanks for the comment. I like the portrait with the glass reflection. The next 2 lack a bit of contrast imho.
Redisburning, nice shot with the ZM 50P. In my humble experience, the ZM 50P and the ZX 50MP have a similar design philosophy and a very similar look, even though they are very different designs. I find them both to fit the modern Zeiss look description, vs the ZX 50P and ZM 50S which give a more traditional look.
Rodluvan, I like all of the shots. The first has very nice tonality. The 2nd strong 3D. The 3rd and 4th beautiful contrast and color.

Thanks Wayne and you are most correct that the shots from there are difficult to PP. Great place and I also have hundreds of pics to sort through....
