Mohamed -- Didn't you post a different twilight shot with this lens of the same spot last spring (more water and reflections?)? I seem to recall it was also very striking.
Lieutenant - I really like them as a set. Some narrative is going on. I like the steps on the last one. Slightly wish if the focus was on the top of the second step from the bottom, not on the face of the third. I don't know why though.
prosep - #2 is a perfect shot for me. Gorgeous shot.

.
Akul, many thanks for your interesting comment much appreciated
IMO focus on the third step gives depth to the picture. Reading from bottom to top.
But, of course, it's a matter of taste.

I hear what you are saying, and agree with the logic. My comment came from the first glance as my eyes wondered before finding the anchor point.

All right Akul.
Looking forward to seeing your pictures.
Today I went to a store to try out the 85/1.4 ZE.
Very arrogant elderly salesman that already started laughing when I asked for this lens.
Some quotes:
- "People nowadays read some forums and think they need Zeiss or Leica to make good photos"
- "What's focus shift?" "I don't know it, but it's impossible that a zeiss lens has it"
- "Leica is not a company. It's panasonic who puts the name 'leica' on all those camera's." (we were talking about the X1 and M9)
...
All this while he was with his greasy hands all over my 35/1.4 ZE that I had with me, without my permission ofcourse.
I couldn't take it any longer. Told him that he would be better off at home than in a camerastore and that salesmen like him are a big reason why more and more people just order from the cheapest online store.
Took the 85ZE off my camera, thanked him for nothing and just left.
Pathetic.
The few shots I took with the 85 look very nice though. I didn't notice the focusshift. All shots (close to medium distance) from wideopen to f2.8 are spot on. Strange

Wow, that is just amazingly ignorant. Are the rest of the people in that store any better? Was this in Belgium or somewhere else?
Yes and he was rolling his eyes the whole time too
It's the largest, best-known store in Belgium. Some salesmen are friendlier, but really: you're just a number.
