both are nice.I think the first one has great potential(beautiful Oak Tree),nice framing of the building in the background, if it were me i would pick a cloudy day once the leaves start changing and also when more fall on the grass.I think you will have a winner.

This might be an idiot question, but are high-contrast lenses (such as the ZM 35 2.8) prone to problems when shooting in harsh or high-contrast scenes?

Scout location. Wait for leaves to fall. Make picture. Post on FM.

By the way, both images are the same tree, same day.
