OneAnt: Love the shots...what is the MF like on the D90.
Great shot Donuss
Since we have been discussing color space...probably not the right forum, but within the context of this thread....
With window 7 64 bit, I find my color management work flow with CS4 64bit, keeps everything in adobe rgb, only because my printers, canon pro9000, and pro9500II, have the provision for being driven internally with adobe rgb with 16 bit drivers. Keeping this work flow, maintains very accurate colors.
I tried this afternoon, with the prophoto rgb color space, and could not get either of the printers to accurately print colors, in fact way off. The only way would be to get customized ICC printer profiles. I definitely would prefer to work in prophoto rgb, because of expanded color space.
All my web based shots, are converted sRGB. This is an interesting area of color management, particularly with web browsers, as to really what we are seeing is accurate.

do any browsers actually support Prophoto RGB?
As somebody else already said, most monitors can't display the Prophoto RGB, matter of fact I dont think any can. On the other hand most good moniters can come close to covering the aRGB gamut.
Cheap LCD's mostly cant even cover the sRGB gamut and clip colours - particularly yellows. Yellows also have a tendency to go strongly off hue with these panels.
(I'm talking consumer samsungs, viewsonics, chimeis, dells etc).
All things to remember when you have a web gallery to show 'normal' people with average computers...
It is a general consensus that sRGB should be the space (after conversion) for the files to show on any browser. Except safari none can display the images in embeded profile, and after a tweak firefox comes close.
However for editing purpose ProPhotoRGB is still the best. I personally use Joseph Holmes color space. (Dcam3).

...makes you upgrade to a D700 in coming weeks.
Out of 245 street pics Ive missed about 9 and zero are cropped. Its the metering I miss, my lenses zf21 28 35 50/2 & 100 are all ver.1 so nothing except for AutoWB. Sometimes I'd just like a bit of rest but other times I think I'd do the same on the D700.
I too have both the D90 and D700. I first used manual focus on my D90 and gave up. Blamed my eyes. About 6 months after trying that I purchased my D700 and tried manual focus again (this time Zeiss lenses) and wow, seems so much easier and my keeper rate is great. About 3 weeks ago I had to send in my D700 so all I have left is my D90. I have been using my D90 pretty much strictly with my Zeiss lenses and have to say that it was the photographer that was the problem to begin with in regards to the D90, not the camera . Yeah, the huge viewfinder of the D700 really helps, but the thing that helps most is practice.
That being said, Zeiss on D700 is a dream! You will definitely enjoy
I do ALL my post processing in ProPhoto colorspace. It is the best for my prints. You can't use it for web presentation. For web, you must use sRGB or ColorMatch rgb.
Hi: Probably stupid question, but are these new Zeiss lenses for Canon mount (ZE) ? I see that KEH has used Distagon 35/2 lenses that run in the $300 range. Can someone please help clear this up for me?
Not a chance. If it doesn't say ZE, then it's not. Are you sure those aren't C/Y 35mm f/2.8 Distagon's? That makes the most sense to me for that price range.
Dare I ask Makten, but what color space do you work in ?
The deep gold, orange would I imagine demand a wider gamut. It is an interesting issue as brought up by Andrew(Snowboarder), as we have these great Z series lenses, and how the improved color rendition is being presented.
I have since revisited the Canon website for additional drivers, and I now getting accurate colors from the pro9000 and pro9500II in Prophoto RGB.
Also I found with firefox, I have 3.6.3, I have now downloaded a add-ons, Color Management 0.5.3, which has user options for the color management you wish. I have since viewed some of Andrew's shots, and found them to be richer and fuller but not as saturated as before in firefox. Again I compared with IE8, and found a large difference with the updated Firefox. My perception, is the orange, yellows and reds are better rendered. Particularly important, with respect to most photographers when possible, try to capture the early morning or late afternoon colors,
