FlyPF, both versions are ok, your HDR version photos are very well balanced so no problem with both
If you don't mind, i see the bright areas too bright maybe it's my monitor.

Hi everyone,
I have a question: Should I sell my 100L and 135L to get the Zeiss 100MP?
My current gear: 5D, 35L, Sigma 85, 100L, 135L. I want to reduce that to a three-lenses kit. Have anyone done the same thing? It's pretty hard parting the 135L. My main subject is people.
Thanks.

If you really mean people and not static portrait I wouldn't ditch the autofocus lenses. Whilst I love my manual lenses I was really happy that I took my L zoom with me on a recent trip to Ethiopia, many shots would not have been possible with a manual lens, at least for me.

Thanks akul and Hugo!

GSteve: Great shot of the robber fly (I think)! Was the photo heavily cropped?

Jae, liked the "untitled-34" (dark indoor image). Regards the library images the versions without HDR are way too light, look for example tabletops etc. at least 1 1/3 stops too much light - due to this I prefer the HDR versions, but they seem to have some weird green haloing around light sources.

Bob, haven't heard before HDR efex pro but it seems to work quite well, no stupid HDR halos etc.

Jim, liked the goat photo, specially light/dark thing and bokeh.

GSteve, I would assume that was with 20mm tube and cropping. Or is it really that big fly?

Joe, great color contrast and ripples in water. Just browsed through my photos where colors are the main focus of the picture and almost all of them were shoot with Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2, seems that when I shoot with Zeiss I'm concentrating too much for capturing "being there"-feeling and miss subjects, which trust to other aspects of this art, while shooting with Leica I concentrate to that kind of things, since it cannot produce "being there"-feeling. So time for field practice for me; try to shoot something with Zeiss, which is based on colors/shapes/etc.

alkanphel, "Misty Morning" has nice detail in trees.

It depends what kind of people photos you shoot. I shoot everything else with Zeiss (and few Leica, Zuiko, Pentax, M42 etc.), but for weddings I have 24-70L and 100L - I'm not brave enough to shoot weddings with manual focus. Static people portraits etc. I find it easy to shoot with Zeiss, and people (normal ordinary people not photographers) like better the photos shoot with Zeiss.

----------------------------

First day in Austria I arrived 7PM, and was in Vienna after 8PM, without luggage thou - There was airplane failure and my flight to Stockholm was delayed for hour, and time between flights was exactly hour, so I was sure at that point that I will not get to Austria during Thursday. However SAS did great job and drove me with car to directly to plane going to Vienna, naturally luggage did not make. Not a good start, but after checking in to hotel, went directly to Belvedere. Good time to visit there, not so many people - during the day Belvedere gets really annoying with thousands of tourists.

Austria, Vienna, Belvederegarten - Carl Zeiss Makro-Planar T* 2/100 @ f/3.5, 1/100s, ISO 100 (link to 1800px version)

Austria, Vienna, Upper Belvedere - Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 2/35 @ f/5, 1/40s, ISO 100 (link to 1800px version)

Thanks, I still can't decide. My Sigma 85/1.4 and 100L are a combo for dreamy/realistic people shots (however the 100L is not that different from the Sigma), the 135L is for smoother bokeh. I don't use the 135L too much and the 100L is not quite what I need, the Zeiss 100/2 seems to be the best choice to replace both. However I'm not really impress with the 100/2's people photos. I'm not sure if it can meet my expectation.

IMO, the Sigma 85 is the weakest of the line up but that's purely because I abhor onion ring bokeh. I'm sure its sharp and fast to focus.
