Woah man! I take a couple days off from the internet and the Zeiss thread blows up! I sincerely appreciate all the feedback on my Giving Tree image, thanks guys!
I'm making another move to pickup the ZE 35 and 85 again. Let go of a couple L primes to re-acquire them. Really excited to get back into manual focus lenses for my everyday work (I'll still use AF at events)
You all have been producing some really incredible work guys, it was exciting to browse the last few pages. Seriously good stuff!

Thank you Peter, akul and OneAnt. Sure you can call it cute - this is actually one aspect of the manifold city of Amsterdam. Here's Amsterdam by night:
Very nice shot with awesome lighting/colour and stillness.
There's something in the foreground right at the bottom which is a bit distracting but otherwise this is a wall hangar for sure.
wow this thread has gone fast forward since my last post so no possibility to comment for the great work of everyone, however yesterday I had some time for a walkaround and here are some quick snapshots:
Jim: Love the last shot of the reeds and the pastel colors.
Victor: Bokeh and the warm lighting on the portrait looks really great
Nikson: Man, in your face really works. Great expression on the bottom corner guy.
Uzay: #3 and #4 are marvelous
Lars: Seems like the trick for 21mm portraits are subject positioning in the center to avoid distortion.
Sami: Great B&W conversions. Are you using a lightroom plugins to show camera data on the picture frames?
I'm still playing around with my HDRs, PTLens really helps a lot in distortion correction and perspective! I wish it had a straightening feature like DXO where you can draw two lines and it'll realign the image.
- FlyPenFly, wowww, these HDR are amazing... I want a 21mm...
- Jim Schemel, nice shots, really like the first portrait... I want a 35mm too
- Johnahill, good compo (St Dunstan In the east Church)
- Sami, great compos, ideas and B&W
- Vincent, I think the same... it's really dificult with Zeiss to make nice portraits of childs but I love te portraits & more my childs I'm going to make more and more.
Ulff, your Amsterdam shots are neat!
Peter, awsome 2nd portrait!
uzay, love your waiting hall shot.
nick, very different but all the same interesting shots, I like especially the horses shot
thanks, abhijeeth - those waves are inspirational!
Lars, your market shots are masterful, as all of your Asia series. Last two pop quite a bit.
victor, lovely portraits, the second even more so
thank you akul - thats a different brick wall shot ;-) what kind of problems do you have with the 35? I find it easy for small things at the minimal focus distance, but also at larger distances. Even with moving objects at f4 it's ok.
vincent, the second portrait is very nice
Sami, your second shot with the 25 sure has some magic!
FlyPenFly, have you toned down the images, yesterday I thought those with the people in them had to much contrast, now I think, they are ok. Great series!
Jim, like that reed shot
Johnahill I like the mood of your first church shot!
here is a couple more with the 35/2 from Lesvos.
ZF 35 @ 4
Vicent- nice portrait
Jim - Nice shot with 35 #3 is my fav Also the barbed wire.
FlyPenFly - Nice HDR. I am not so sure about distortion correction though. Vertical gets vertical, but everything else gets distorted. I probably prefer the uncorrected one, especially the one shooting from the side.
Johnahill - nice composition
Sami - Those B/W are gorgeous. #1 #2 particularly caught my attention
Victor - very nice leaf
Cyra - #2 #3 #5 are great with very nice OOF area. Stray cat shot has narrative which adds to the photo. The problem I have with Zf35 is that it is hard to focus on Live View. I sometimes wonder if my copy just does not reach infinity or something. On Live View, 100 MP is very easy to focus with D700, also with NEX ZF35 is still quite easy to focus. Somehow, D700 and ZF35 is finicky. Often, I feel I am not focusing on the right spot with it when subjects are in distance.
