Another thing to try I will try to process the same image tonight with some of these tips, and then see what kind of difference I can get. I might post comparison links then.
Lars: Very strong but still finely detailed colors in the flower petals
akul: I like your 3rd shot the most, the composition of the stacked highways is nicely done
melbmanu: Nice shot of the patriot!
atran: I like your 1st and last one, I agree with carstenw, either arrange in the 2nd group of leaves or do a tighter crop
Thank you for your comment Carsten, Alkanphel.
Carsten, the third shot was rather high in contrast and I struggled to achieve the look I was after, that was when I thought about a dedicated tool. I prefer to keep things simple, so I need to weigh in, and I'd rather spend money on better tripod at the moment.

I like the first one, although the central placement of the leaves, and the way the secondary group on the right has been sliced through, weaken the composition, IMO. Your processing seems to be very good on the sharpness front, but less strong in the colours. If I had to recommend something, I would say to focus on having a strong composition of an interesting subject, and working on the colours in PP.
Hi carstenw,
I am still try to learn to improve the composition of my images. It's kinda hard though and I don't know why. I use resize script with sharpening that Luka suggested for Zeiss lens and it has worked well so far. What PP work you guys often do with the colors though? Most of the times I don't PP the color and just resize it.
Also I have a feeling that the color that comes out of FF camera using Zeiss lens is richer. Do you guys tweak any color setting in the camera to achieve better colors?
That first shot is very good, but the second one is great! I wonder if a bit more contrast might be good, but then, the soft look really works in these shots, so maybe not.

I can't speak for anyone else, but as I shoot RAW, I ignore all the in-camera settings, which generally only affect JPGs. In post I do often use a click of Contrast and another of Vibrance (Aperture, should be similar in Lightroom). Is this a Canon camera?
Composition is just experience, looking at what you make, which work, and which not. You could also study photography books to see what the masters do with their photos, but you need to find your own voice in the end. Copying someone else in the short term can help, though, until you start to see where the greatness comes from.
How do you navigate on the site to specific pages? I want to go to page 160 of this thread, but somehow have overlooked a "Go To" box to immediately see the page I want.
Anyone know?
I'm sure it will be one of those "DOH!" moments for me when I find out.
