Hah, that is funny. It surprises me that someone would think I am a 50 Planar person, not because I couldn't be, but simply because I value sharpness, wide open and up close (not macro region, just close). I think some, perhaps many of my shots do show that.
On the other hand, I have been very impressed by many 50 Planar shots posted here, and do see that it has a special look. If I cannot achieve something close to this with the 50MP, then I will probably add the 50 Planar. 50mm is my favorite focal length anyway, and I don't mind duplication here, especially for a lens with such a special look. ...Show more →

I actually don't know why I get an impression that you may be a planar person vs MP person for 50. You are right, that many shots of yours I have seen are from close distance with high level details ( except for the stitched 100 shots that are more from medium distance ) I sort of think it may be the tonality of shots of yours.
To be honest, something about 50 planar shots has been quite intriguing to me. It is something I don't see from 50 MP shots. I don't own either of them ( I have CY 50 planar from contax film camera which I have not converted to F mount yet) I love the MP characteristics/quality on 100, but that may not be what I look for from 50mm lens. Anyway, I think I projected my 'feeling' onto the perception. I'd love to hear what your findings are on 50MP though.
Bob - Ahh, I thought so, as I did not notice the 21's signature moustache distortion from that ceiling shot. Thanks for the update on Sagrada Famiglia. Use of modern technology must be accelerating their construction process, like precast concrete system. I am shocked though that they are at a point to even have pipe organ installed !! Great shot of organ, of course.
Martynas - Stunning portraits. In particular, I like the hair. composition and natural feeling on the second one.
Lars - Beautiful works. Great lighting. I also really like the wall texture behind.
Whoa! Could you talk a bit about that shot, Ant? Specifically, what were these guys all suited up for, how did he get lighting on both sides of his face, and was he aware of you as you shot the photo, and if so, did he complain?
