Thanks Ryan! I love it. I would not exactly recommend it as a first, second or even third Zeiss lens as it's not good in all situations (i.e close ups wide open) but where it shines it really shines.
Nice Hugo! You get a bonus point for the sheep as animal action photography

I'm really surprised how much zeiss glass is hated over at the canon part of this forum. I don't get it...
Jochen, I don't think really it is hated - there are just a bunch of very loud haters that get a lot attention. Gauging by the lens forum over at the POTN forums Zeiss glass is gaining very fast in popularity. Here at FM in the Canon forum the active 24L vs 21 Distagon poll the 21 is actually leading - which is remarkable given the cult of 'L' lenses among Canonites and the fact that the 24L is one of the best L primes. Why some individuals feel such an irrational hatred towards Zeiss, I don't know. I suspect they think it's snobbery and react against it. I have not seen such dislike directed to the ones from the lighting forum though where people are as sensitive about good artificial lighting as we are about the rendering style of glass.
Ryan, your first shot, Boris, your shot, Martin, you first and third shots are amazing. Others are great too. But for today my admiration goes to DJ Dunzie for his BIF shots, with 100MP no less. Respect!

Luka,
So to protect the rendering and characteristics of Zeiss glass, should we refrain from post processing such as plug-in effects, like color contrast etc.. and do only sharpening? As much as i know every contrast process adds something that may destroy the micro contrast of the Zeiss glass and every additional colorizing process also destroys the color rendition.

Yes, that pretty much sums up my approach to it. There are some nuances though - global operations exposure change, contrast/brightness change etc will as a rule not interfere with local attributes such as micro contrast - at least not when used within reason. White balance is OK as well. However when you get into changing parts of the image (local contrast enhancement or changing just one color channel) the changes will be destructive to the original rendering style of the lens.
This of course not written in stone and there are exceptions but I try to keep the rendering as natural as possible because I really like the Zeiss rendering style.

To me it seems that way too many people are taking things personal ("don't touch MY L") versus seeing bodies and lenses as tools towards a creative end, supporting the vision of the photographer/artist. Each tool with it's own character and it's own balance of "individual style supporting" pro's an con's.
Maybe it is also a matter of status: "look at me, I have all those expensive L's like the pro's, so now I must be the greatest photographer". In that view of the world it is quite threatening that this "new kid on the block" Zeiss (with respect to it's recent soaring popularity) is at least as good as "L's". AND there are a lot of excellent photographers out there (and especially here) who value the intrinsic beauty of the Zeiss craftsmanship and apply that same level of "slow" MF craftsmanship to their art. The results speak for themselves, which of course does not mean that one need Zeiss to obtain excellent results.
Same goes for Nikon board. Some only use Nikon glass as 'that is the best' and never give other types a try. Hell, there is Sigma glass better than Nikon glass. Why put non-Nikon glass on a Nikon body when Nikon has to be the best lens for that camera. Also, some don't understand why they would spend $1,500 for a macro lens when they have a 105 VR that is AF for half the price. When, in reality they should be using MF for precise macro focusing anyways....another topic though.
Here is my thought:
I sum it up like this, I have a mother-in-law that loves to shop at Wal-Mart. She loves to shop b/c it is 10% cheaper for half the quality. Nevertheless, it is cheaper and she is happier that she saved 10% rather than going for double the quality. She puts her blinders on about quality b/c she saved a few pennies and will tell you to your face (and she believes it) that it is just as good as the 'name-brand' for only a fraction of the cost. The rest of us know the truth
Great to see some shots 21 shots from a Sony. Looks great Morten! Both images are superb, but I particularly like the last one.
Got a new toy today - a complete impulse buy but it was very cheap ($400) - a Pentax 67 6x7 medium format (film) camera. It looks like an SLR on steroids.
The lens which was included is a 90/2.8 - the 35mm equivalent of a 45mm lens.
Having hard time to catch up. Many beautiful images since my last post. As I said before, feast for my eyes. I am too slow to write comments, so just from this page.
Denoir - Love the first and last shots. The last one with tree in beautiful side light is def. my favorite. Your ZF85 images are amazing. So clear that you know how to squeeze the best out all your lenses.
Congrats on 6x7 pentax. I bought one just like yours many years ago ( unspecified), but only shot once or twice. I have no clue where it is now. Probably in my parents house somewher...
mortyb - Beautiful. The details literally popped ( as my connection was slow ) out of screen.
Thanks Gary. I've loaded it up with 160VC film but it's dark out now and I don't have a shutter release so I'll have to wait until tomorrow before I take some snaps. And then a couple of weeks or so before it's all developed and scanned
