Jochen, I don\'t think really it is hated - there are just a bunch of very loud haters that get a lot attention. Gauging by the lens forum over at the POTN forums Zeiss glass is gaining very fast in popularity. Here at FM in the Canon forum the active 24L vs 21 Distagon poll the 21 is actually leading - which is remarkable given the cult of \'L\' lenses among Canonites and the fact that the 24L is one of the best L primes. Why some individuals feel such an irrational hatred towards Zeiss, I don\'t know. I suspect they think it\'s snobbery and react against it. I have not seen such dislike directed to the ones from the lighting forum though where people are as sensitive about good artificial lighting as we are about the rendering style of glass.
To me it seems that way too many people are taking things personal (\"don\'t touch MY L\") versus seeing bodies and lenses as tools towards a creative end, supporting the vision of the photographer/artist.
