Bigkidneys, I think you will be just fine unless you want to get into shooting inside churches in a big way. That is the only situation when you might need to go wider than your 35 and faster than either your 24-85 or your 17-40.
I have another suggestion: as I live here, let's meet up, and you can try my 21 and my 28, and I get a taste of your converted 24-85. How's that?
Philber,
That sounds like an excellent idea. I get back o Germany this weekend and will get the specifics of my trip so we can nail down a time and place to meet up.
Your first 4 and your last shots are inspiring, Wayne! I agree with you on the vignetting, but the flare is something I have not run into. On the contrary, I found mine to be quite good in flare resistance
Wayne, excellent shots! I too had never run into the flare like you did which is surprisingly quite evident on your 2nd shot. My wife just surprised me with airline/hotel tickets to San Fran/Napa area in mid September and need to research a few spots to go photo. Any recommendations?
Finally switched my CZ 100/2.0 from 20D to 5DmII and here are the results.
Still struggling to catch the famous 3D-ness and I would be grateful if someone could give me some tips how to make my images look more 'poppy' (if its a correct term)

I like #3 and #7, but please number your pictures to make it easier to comment on them.
I definitely see a degree of 3D/pop in some of them but the colours seem a bit bland on all of them.
Welcome to the forum, by the way.
@wayne seltzer: Excellent series with the 21! Great showcases of the incredible amount of detail that this lens captures.

A little bit of photoshop or some form of image editing can add the extra pop..

I don't usually do portraits, but this street organ player beckoned. One full size, and one crop. C&C welcome
I like the first, full, version best since it puts him into context. First I was going to complain about motion blur of his left hand but then I saw that he was using it to play with. If anything I think would have liked to see just a little bit more of his instrument to give the photo more context.
Maybe you could also try b&w since the colours are not that interesting. Still a nice portrait.
Went to an Orchestra at The esplanade, Boston. Walking back home took this shot. Did not have tripod so used the side rail. Shot with 1DMKIV Zeiss 35mm f2 at f4, 10sec.

jfreak, that's where I learned to sail (Community Boating) for $1 per summer. I don't think it is that cheap anymore. Nice pic, I love walking by the river at night. Haven't done it in a while as I do not live there anymore, but I get back to visit my parents when I can.
Herrison, nice shots. There is difference in rendering, but I do like it. It has a more pastel style of rendering than the typical ZE 100MP. In many ways, the rendering of this lens maybe preferred by some. Shot #10 would normally have almost blown highlights with the ZE 100MP unless the day was very hazy.
Nice portrait Philippe.
metagraphica, nice shot.
Really liking your shots Ryan The tonality and colour are great.
It's from a location close to Stockholm where they are building apartments on an old harbor/industrial area. The metal plates construction is closed to the water at an open are and maybe it is some kind of remembrance of the harbor but I'm only guessing. Although I don't think it is a coincidence that it is so low because to the camera left there is a slope whit apartment buildings and they probably didn't want to block the view of the water from the apartments so that they could charge a little extra for them.
Great shots Makten, rsolti and others over the last few pages...
Well it's Ramadan, 45c in the shade and I was craving coffee. What to do? Go to the local 5* hotel (the only places serving food or drink in daylight hours!)

Numbers 8 and 9 are really nice. For your shots, I think the trick would be to play with your exposure settings, and wait till you get the right type of light for the scene. The two shots I liked, looked like they were exposed well, and had fantastic light for you to work with. I think that's more the trick then anything else with the 100 MP ZE, thats just my opinion however, but for what it's worth, I hope it helps.
P.S. Have been to busy to even look over this thread, great shots guys!
I've been following this thread for quite some time, lurking in the shadows and being absolutely amazed by many of the photos posted! Having recently switched to Canon (again) after a period of Nikon use I couldn't resist purchasing the Distagon 2/35 ZE. I'm not ready to publishing any of my photos (yet!), but hopefully I'll soon be confident enough to take a more active part.
In the meantime, a question for you guys (and girls for that matter!). When I purchased my 5D MkII I kind of suspected that the standard focusing screen wouldn't be good enough for manual focusing. I was right, so I installed the Eg-s screen instead. But I have to say that although the number of out of focus shots has decreased, I still find it quite difficult to nail the focus WITHOUT resorting to a tripod setup and the Live View function. Perhaps my eyesight is a lot worse than I though, I don't know.
Anyway, it would be interesting to know how YOU get those supersharp shots. Do you use Live View or perhaps a third party focusing screen?
