I'm sorting and rating photos from two months back - I've post the best ones before, so these are just odds and ends:
That last one has actually been subjected to minimal PP - just a white balance adjustment and a perspective correction. I suppose the building was weirdly evenly illuminated giving that flat almost drawing like look.
Here is a B/W conversion, looking perhaps a bit less weird:
Superb shots as usual Luka. I like the last one the best. I love the way you have the lens type in your frame, very useful to those of us wanting to spot samples from lenses.
Your shots set the benchmark, the processing, colours, composition, pop... WOW!!
Really nice shots Luka, as usual. Like the change of pace with #1 and 2, with the different perspectives of your shots. #4 colour version does have the eery feel to it.

Thanks Charles, yes both MPs can produce nervous bokeh if you are unlucky with the combination of distance to subject & background as well as the background itself. Leaves, especially with high contrast regions can be really bad.
Everyone's shots with the 21 are simply amazing! I have a question for you guys. I will be in Paris in early September and will be taking a 35/2, contax 24-85, and canon 17-40. I really want to get some beautiful architecture shots like those posted here. Do you think i can manage with the lenses i have or should i rent a 21? I would love to buy one but really don't think I would get much usage out of it back home in Florida. I have a 5D MK II if that helps at all.
Joakim, I think you are right... Just wondering if most shots are handheld or shot from a tripod? Would rather travel light around town if possible. Beautiful shots btw.

Your lenses should be fine for your purpose.
However, when you're using 17-40L, using 17mm wide open might not be a great idea.
Vignetting and sharpness falls apart at that point.
Other than that, 17-40 is very good lens for architecture/scenary shots, especially when your position to take photos is limited. =)
Bigkidneys, I think you will be just fine unless you want to get into shooting inside churches in a big way. That is the only situation when you might need to go wider than your 35 and faster than either your 24-85 or your 17-40.
I have another suggestion: as I live here, let's meet up, and you can try my 21 and my 28, and I get a taste of your converted 24-85. How's that?
Nothing to write home about, but it was nice to find some countryside while visiting family in the concrete jungle that is Birmingham, UK...! Canal side....
