Luka, wow! I don't need no ZF21, but pictures like yours make me want one.

What a wonderful description of these two lenses, Bernd! I agree totally. In my experience, the difference between them is essentially the same as that between ZE 50 f:1.4 and ZE 50 MP. So I have 50 f:1.4, 85 and 100MP, as I prefer the f:1.4 "look", and feel that I only need one MP.
Here is one example, deliberately not a portrait, in order to show that the 85 can do a lot more, of what I consider, using your excellent word, "kindness". I am not sure that the 100MP, despite all its qualities, could match that.
Now that is a great photo and I know what you mean.
ZF85 is really two in one. It has that special soft glow wide open and great resolution stopped down a little.
@ Charles: lovely portraits with 50MP. Delightful smile!
@ Bernd: Pro portraits! Very enjoyable!
@ Ajay: I like very much you San Francisco shot - the glowing light and blues makes a very eye pleasing combination!
@ Toothwalker: A nice set!
@ Philber: I like 21 better
@ Luka: love your style! Crystal clear and pure. My fav is the "Stockholm" boat!
Philber, excellent side by side comparison of the 21 vs 28. I definitely prefer the 21 IMHO. The 28 renders more detail in the shadows. As Lloyd suggested it is a better lens close to medium distances.
Thank you Martynas
Luka: Excellent shots as usual. If you are into portraits the 85/1.4 is a really nice lens. I am not convinced of its merit for landscape and street scapes yet, when you can pick up the 35, 50MP or 100MP.
Bernd, as Martynas said pro portrait shots. Great examples of the 85/1.4. Really love your style of portraits.
karel, nice shots!
wiseguy, great macos!

I am not the most accomplished photographer but I can't seem to get the colors to pop on my 35/2 like the 21... I have it for sale thinking about getting the 21 2.8 but am starting to think the issue is my PP skills :-(
It is indeed unusual not to get good colours out of a 35 f:2.0. But, if you want to get this useless lens off your hands, I might just be willing to put an end to your suffering...:-)
Really nice shots Gary
Bigkidneys, your colours are fine with 35/2. It is an excellent lens. The 21/2.8 is an extraordinary lens, but the FL can be restricting at times.

Wiseguy, those macro's are among the very best I've ever seen!
You should have a look at the Macro World forum then. Most images there are not made with Zeiss lenses though, which is a pity. Wiseguys shots definitely have something over all the shots I've seen from Canon/Nikon/Sigma/Tamron lenses.

wiseguy.....hands down the best macro shots I have ever seen with that lens!
Thank you for your nice words.
For a lens that is limited to a 1:2 reproduction it is quite good possible (with some cropping in postprocessing) to get nice detailed pictures of little creatures. But I still hope that Zeiss will build a real 1:1 macro in future.
