How are you liking the 28 ZE? There seems to be a select people who actively use that Zeiss offering.
I can tell you I'm fond of mine. It's definitively Zeiss glass in it's color an contrast rendition.
Sharpness is far better than I expected, in fact I find it perfect except the borders at wide apertures.
The bokeh can be harsh sometimes like in the following B&W picture, but I like it, I find it suits well this FL.

The 28 is not an easy lens to use, at least not immediately. But once I realised that it is not a landscape lens, and that it is best for cityscape with foregrounds, including very close up, it produces pleasing results. It is best to also beware of CA, of which it has more than any other ZE lens I have owned.

Sounds good. Definitely like what I'm seeing from the samples, thanks for posting them!

Thanks for the impressions, philber! Your findings seem to echo what John Black? (of PebblePlace) has found from the lens (that the lenses "fingerprint" is revealed when shooting at close/mid distances). I tend to shoot close to mid distances most of the time so it sounds like this lens could be for me (I prefer the 28mm focal length too). I've also noticed some CA jumping out in some samples on Flickr (a rather surprising amount in one with a window that was blown out).
I'm flattered that my picture did please you, thanks
Now that you say it, Philippe, I realize you are probably right about the best usage for the ZE28.
I have not used mine much yet, but from the pictures I've made so far it seems the rendering is better at close or medium distances than at infinity.
It can be related to my composition skills too, since it is harder for me to compose a good landscape picture with an interesting foreground. It's often easier to focus on a close subject which is of interest, and use a short DOF to produce spectacular images. (my apologies if I'm not making myself completely clear, but I'm struggling to find the right words in english )
I essentially agree with Peire, except that the barrel distortion is easy to get rid of. As to the punch of ZE 21, I am not yet sure if it is the 28 that lacks a little something, or if it is the 21 that beautifies every shot just a little...
Came on here a while back to get advise on which zeiss lens to go for and thanks to the help and also seeing some fab photos I decided on the 35/2. The colours and contrast just blows away the rest of my canon glass. I'm off to NYC in Oct so hoping to pickup another ZE lens possibly the 100 MP. Worth considering on a FF if I already have 85mm covered?
Anyway here are some shots to share from the 35mm all shot at f2
Nice shots Peire Definitely prefer the shots with the 21/2.8.
Excellent shots beud! Great use of the 28/2.
Great portrait shots achang Excellent lighting. #3 is my favourite. Love the 35/2 lens, as it gives a different perspective than that of the classical lens.
@ Denoir: natural light and two reflectors (one small and one middle sized, both silver) - one from bellow and one from the side. And here is color back for you:
Excellent shot Martynas! Love the tones throughout. Normally the 100MP can be harsh
You just posted the colour shot. I prefer the B&W conversion, as the red is very predominant. Great portraits though!
@ Charles: those are a really shiny shots! I especially like the angle and perspective in the first one! Really cool!
Yes, I was having doubts about 85ZE - not so well regarded in reviews and in forums, but than I look at images and especially portraits taken with it my doubts just dissolve somewhere - I have to get it!
