N100/2.8 from yesterday....

Very 3d to me (post 25 page 7), like looking through a window without the pane of glass to muck it up. Bokeh is good enough for me too, especially in the last three. Sharp as a tack wide open at f/2.8.

The other post is labeled as 100N, but the EXIF says 50mm, with a shutter speed but no aperture given. Seems like the EXIF of an Alt lens with a chipped adapter on it, like maybe your CZ 100 f/2 I think. (re: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/850075/6#8095489 ). The bokeh does look different/worse in that post, as noted in posts that followed it.

The Kodak SLR/c and SLR/n (I have an SLR/n) are 14 mp. At low ISO, it blows the 5D out of the water. Not sure how it compares to the 21mp Canons, but I would guess that it is not far off.

I've found the Kodak SLR/c has richer/truer colors, much higher edge accutance, a nicer contrast curve - at or below it base ISO (ISO160 is it's base, but it goes DOWN to ISO6). The resolution is very close to my 5DII, with a quality lens. With good light I prefer the files from the SLR/c over my 5DII. The SLR/c files also seem to print nicer.

After seeing the latest 17-35N pics I'm a little disappointed that I sold mine instead of getting it converted. I would have loved to see how it performs on the Kodak and 5DII.

I like this one Paul. Looks like you used a milder version of that profile you used in that other thread and got the best of both worlds in this image.

Paul,
Only real difference seems to be just the color.I think you are in the best position to judge.Which of the two seems to show the true color of the building and the sky? That is the one i would go for

The true color of the sky was the first one....
But, I thought the second one was more dramatic.... a little more punch to the flag....

The first one looks terribly oversharpened.

Sharp eye....
The only difference between the two is ... the first one was "sharpen edged".

Thanks for posting the images from the 50/1.4 - as I have one out for conversion and hoping it's a keeper. Your images certainly make it look as such - the stage / lighting image is awesome!

Hey Doc,

Great sculpture shot - it blends in well with the snow & gray light day. Have you ever used that lens at 17mm f2.8? It vignettes a bit but can be composed into the image nicely.
