love mine, best solution i found to using a hand strap with gripped d700. (using the manfrotto plus) i like the fact it is billet alum, and has the anti-twist design built in. goes well with my newton bracket.
All good here. I've been using them, along with Canon E-1 hand straps, for over four years with no problems whatsoever. Also, Jim at Camdapter is great to deal with. He normally ships right away and is quick to respond to emails.
Camdapter is a fine company, I've never heard complaints about their service. Personally I prefer the Canon E1 hand strap over the Camdapter as the Campdapter is rather stiff leather.
There is an alternatives to their plates, lighter (look at the bottom), same price, same functionality, equally fine company, ImageTooling: http://www.imagetooling.com/
I bought a Camdapter handstrap and plate quite recently and I have to say that the plate (a Manfrotto standard type) is superbly well-made and finished and definitely puts Manfrotto's own offering to shame.

RRS offers there plates both L and regular with the capability to add a strap (which i don't use myself)
its on both of mine.
from a design stand point i prefer the RRS (of course) and imagetools for the fact that it is machined into the design. a unified body. the Camdapter plates are a plate and pin design. can't imagine why the 2 parts. both are more refined designs
how doesn't it fit? i mean its really not that hard to build one of these plates correctly. you really have to try to make it not fit a screw type AS clamp. can you do a few shots of it? cand you give a width measurement across the whole base. it should be 38mm

I have their arca adapter
Description:Camdapter Arca Neoprene, Item #:CDN-A
Unit price:$43,00 USD
Money wasted. They say:
"The Camdapter Arca Style fits Arca Swiss QR Clamps, including RRS Lever Clamps"
It doesn't fit even an arca screw clamp!
Pictures, please, as I can only guess you're doing something wrong, although I can't guess what. Also, I can't believe Jim Garavuso (FM member, and Camdapter proprietor) has been contacted and won't make things right. Pictures, please.
