Thanks, No masking in PP. I use a resize and sharpen action by Samuli. The pop/3D is why I love this lens so much. I spent about 15 seconds tops in PS for this shot.
Converted from RAW (adjusted color balance). Then Samuli action. Done.
Andreas, your shot is a perfect example of what this lens does best, creating dramatic separation between the subject and the background. It of course doesn't hurt that you are a great photographer! If you hit the focus just right, then you will get results almost this good SOOC with this lens. It's still my favorite 35 although the 35/2 is growing on me...
Hello,
IS this action available somewhere?
I would like to try this.
I must have missed it...

Samuli posted a link to a pdf describing the action in the big Zeiss kens thread (ZE/ZF/ZM Images...), I don't know exactly where but looke for it from about page 55 where there is a lot of discussions about sharpening.
Just picked up my C/Y Zeiss 35/1.4 today.
Mine says Made in West Germany, so I guess this is an AE version?
Wow, just looking at it, I am certain my 5DMkII is gonna have problems.
The rear element protrudes much more so than my converted Minolta Rokkor 58/1.2
AND, I have problems w/ my C/Y Zeiss 35-70/3.4
Sigh, oh well, I will know for certain tonight.
Maybe I should go the Leitax route, instead of all these various adapters I have...
