I received my Rokinon 85 today and I have two questions. I am assuming that the lens does not report aperture information to the camera (so EXIF info will not have that) and that there is no focus confirmation with this lens. However, I'm also seeing that Lightroom is reporting the focal length as 50mm instead of 85mm. Is this normal?
Also, I'm seeing a lot of CA (along with sensor blooming) with this lens. Also normal?

Thanks for the help!
Lightroom has no idea what the focal length is, because the camera has no idea what the focal length is. Lightroom must just default to 50mm.
My copy has very well-controlled CA and I have not noticed any blooming. I suspect there may be some sample variation with these lenses.

Looking at this makes me thing that this lens needs to be returned.
I think you are correct.I have seen nothing like this in my copy and have not heard of others either having this.Looks like you got a bad copy.Send it back and then post some pics with the new copy.It is a great lens for the money.

Looks like LoCA to me in harsh outdoor lighting scenario. I haven't seen my copy do this but I can try shooting some birch trees tomorrow if we get any sunshine.
The light was definitely harsh - full sunlight at noon. I haven't had time to do any other tests, but it looks so bad that I was thinking someone else would have seen this or something similar. Wayne if you have time to do a similar test that would be fabulous.
As you can see from the stopped down shot the sharpness is clearly there, so that's not an issue. I just wonder if some lens element is just a bit out of alignment or something.
