Notice...the laundry basket is empty.

I don't have a teenage daughter, so I can't help you with tips on how to get them to pick up their stuff.

I found this photo funny. The composition says it all. "The challenges of Parenting."

I like the fearful look on the dog under the chair in the 2nd one. I used to be a very neat person, but live with a relatively messy spouse and my old ways have really laxed. It's frustrating, but it's fighting an uphill battle.

Great idea for a thread!

And we think we have it bad when our daughters don't make their beds

Then again, they (thankfully) have not reached their teen years yet.......

PS - Love the total dis-interest of the "subjects" in those photos!

wish I could have taken a shot of my granddaughters room before the s*it hit fan,, she got grounded for two weeks with no cell and any electronics,, 13 years age,,

her thoughts were who needs drawers or hangers,, she has very nice clothes and loves to dress in style but then treats em like trash,,

seriously doubt the two weeks grounding is going to correct her way of living in her room,,

we have missed something with this generation,,

My two have recently moved out.
So did the unidentifiable funk smell from our son's room.
Empty nesting is great when they still live in town!

Folk's I have to say something on this subject... If you don't get a handle on it now, when they become grownups and leave on there own OR even get married... it will not change... It is a FACT if you allow them to live like pigs, they will always live like one.... You need to GROUND them for ever.. REMOVE all TV's all computer's and laptops.... Show them ONE time what the standards are and how to met them.. You could all so REMOVE the door it self.. Invade there privacy....

Folk's I've been there and went down this road, It can also effect's your grandkids..

Thanks for sharing..

And I thought I was messy! I am 22 and my room
never looked liked that growing up.

Looking at those pictures kinda makes me feel nervous inside.

Well i always thought only boys had messy rooms, i wish i would have seen this when i was growing up, i could have had a better argument when my mom told me my room looks like a pig sty. boy girls learn to multi task at a young age, one girl is talking to her friend 2 feet away, and texting another friend. the other girl is prolly Instant messaging her friend on the computer and talking to another one on the phone. the funny thing to me if you took out and hid 1 item, they would

Greg your right most of it is clothes, Does not take her long to pick up at the end of the week.

Fun topic. As an Army NCO I could always tell these kids during surprise barracks inspections. It didn't take long for them to change under the right conditions. A few days of room inspection with complete layouts and they quickly found the value of maintenance clean versus 'Sarge is coming to inspect' clean. One os nice to live in with no hustle required, the other is hell and very inconvenient. I've lived with some pigs in my days, too. I wasn't raised that way and it always amused me to see what people would let go. Thanks for starting this - I'm looking forward to more "FM Cribs"

Great idea for a thread. I will post my two teenage girls' bedroom photos later. Need to use the daylight to get some yard work done.

This thread will be great public embarrassment when I show them later - maybe after posting a link to the photos on their Facebook pages.

But folks, these pictures show clutter, not filth. I don't agree that clutter is a sure sign of a major life deficiency. Today's teens have a lot of pressures and if the clutter supports their psyche and gets addressed from time-to-time - what the heck it's their room, their habitat.
