I know this is crazy, and Nikon will likely NEVER take such a risk, but if they went completely outside the box, and give us something that revolutionizes the way we think about photography. Like a glass-eye for the blind that takes pictures with a remote trigger, or some kind of wearable camera system. I'm sure these aren't really novel ideas, but no company has brought us anything like that yet... at least not commercially available.

If Nikon is coming out with a fully manual DRF (ala Leica competition) with a line of pancake lenses, I'm game!
I miss those split image focus screens for manual focus! ah.. the good'ol days (alright, I'm not THAT old... just played with my grandfather's stuff a lot )
I totally agree! If Nikon comes up with a digital FM3A (FM3D), I'm sold.

Ok, let's coin it then the "FM4-D". It would be an FM3A body with a digital sensor, retaining the same F mount, available in either silver, black, or titanium.
I was going to say that maybe it will be something with built-in AI, something that jumps out of your camera bag by itself and makes a piece of photographic art when the right situation comes up... but naw, that's just too far fetched. Instead, look for a new product that incorporates an Intel CPU and high end video chip, allowing you to play Crisis on its rear screen while you wait for the right situation to come along
Won't do much for photography per se, but it would certainly be in line with the general population's want for the latest digital gadget.

I cannot go into much details because i dont know how trackable it is, but what i seen today will change your nikon "life" within single digit of months.
Whatever camera you have now, start saving :-), you will thank me later. :-D
Now lock the thread because i already said too much
Hi Kitty, what happened to the life changing Nikon camera that should be introduced not later than today according to your info
Was it cancelled or just postponed
Or did you mean one of the coolpixes introduced in winter
24-70/2 - and why only .8 stop - go for 1.4
14-24/1.8 - 2.8 works just fine
35/1.0 WOW interesting
50/1.2 - old one works just fine
85/1.2 - and why do we need more cream
105/1.8 - not sure what to say here

105mm F/1.8 AF G VR-IV macro
Why save? When it is there I buy it, when I like it. I'm really waiting for something like the NeXt from Sony or Oly's Pen with light lenses and you can normal F-lenses and SB's too

Finally!!!!! A Nikon camera that shoots like a Canon and accepts only Canon lenses.
That has to be the least-requested camera in all of history!
I guess Kitty might have heard rumours about the Pentax MFDB camera, mixed up with something else? I personally cannot really think of anything which would make me want to give up my D3.

good to see i'm not the only person not thrilled by the evolution of video into SLR photography.
The release of which was simply for soccer moms who want to video kids games and such, a pointless addition being that $100 camcorders take better video than $1000+ SLR's.
whatever, usless rant over/....
from someone that shoots film / HD for a living, I think it's a bit ridiculous too.
But, it's all the rage here in hollywood for commercials and videos and even some main stream TV. Just a cheap option we call art these days.
Remember, autofocus was disdained by many when it came along. I absolutely do not want anything to do with video and actively dislike even the prospect of shooting it. But, I see it as being parallel to the development of autofocus.
I know all about House.
I know it shoots 'Good' video. 10K video cams ? I don't use those, I use 100+K camera packages.
I have literally shot every format there is during 1,000's of days on set.
But try using it 'in the real world' in 'real life' productions, HD stands for Huge Delays !
It's an Artisitic tool at the moment. The DSLR / Video thing.
HD is here to stay as there are just a handful of tv shows shooting 35mm.
Even features are doing more HD than film these days.
I might leave for Detroit to do a movie in a few weeks... HD, not film.
In my opinion, they should be two separate things. video/stills that is.
but in the end, we'll all have DSLRs that will shoot HD video.
Great for home movies and 'artistic' works, but for mainstream film making it's NOT the tool.
