Actually your 5D has ISO read out in the VF. Just tap the ISO button while looking. Also, there is a single custom mode to store your fav settings.
The sense of the ISO read in this case is: I do not want to move a finger for it but I want to see it. I have my custom mode for AF purpose.
No joke, I had a dream last night where I was in a photography shop and the dealer was telling me that the 7D's would be in store Oct. 7th. Geezus, I have to stop thinking about this camera.
Probably something to do with FPS up to 10 or more might not be possible if the pixel count increases.
The other one would be better noise performance if you compare it against 7D for sure. One for sensor size and the other for photosite size.I also do not want to handle >30 MP files with my old iMac ( I need a breath for my economy before changing desktop)
Not that I want to argue you about resizing over here... lol

What's wrong with a higher pixel count?
instead of upping the pixel count work on the internal processesing ie,new digic chips or a multicore digic chip and more onboard memory this is what shold be the focus since 12-21 mp is enough for FF

I don't think 21 MP is enough for ever and ever, and I'm not alone. But for a hi rez camera, I could live with a slow framerate.
With the 7D, we got both increased resolution and speed. The same could happen with a 3D (dual digic V), but we could also see a fast, lo-rez 3D plus a slow hi-rez 5DIII.

uh... why not just a 300/2.8 then if you're going to use the TC anyway
I want the 200 capability and I like the results if needed, with the 1.4 TC. With a good crop camera I also get even more reach compared to my two full frame cameras. Versatility is what I am looking for with a max of what I need for my work with the least room taken. Trying to optimize.

why not a fast high-res 3D and a slow crazy hi-res 5D3?

It's too early to say anything definitive, but the JPEG samples at the Imaging Resource site are encouraging. They seem considerably sharper than the 50D/500D equivalents, which indicates to me that the 7D is applying less NR to the images at equivalent ISO settings.
You are aware that the 500D is applying NR to your files even at ISO 100? This also happens to RAW files by default in DPP (though you can turn this off). This is one reason that files from these cameras can seem soft compared to other models.
Yeh! aware of that but shooting raw and converting in ACR with everything turned off is not adding noise reduction?? and I stand by what I said about lack of fine detail, but maybe the 7D will be better, who really knows till you get your own images onto your own computer and compare.
You notice that Canon has dropped the pixels down to 10million on the G11.

+1. You can have 4 stop IS on effective 320mm F2.0 FoV with 200 F2.0
If the 7D is as good as it sounds I might sell my 5D classic and buy one of these. The only thing that would REALLY angry me is if Canon comes out with a 5D IIN or similar with all the 7D features only full frame. I will be glad that such camera comes out, but after paying $2,700 for a small upgrade from the 5D to 5D II which I'm still happy with, I will be like DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should have waited....
