Don't mind me asking, but you know this to be a fact?
If so, I wonder why the digic III and not IV...
These specs look somewhat promising. I just hope that this is Canon's answer to the D700. The D700 has for sure been a party pooper for Canon and I just hope they react soon. All I would want would be the original 5D's sensor with better high ISO (1 stop would suffice), the same unmatched low ISO quality, and add on wethersealing and the AF of the 1D2 series. As long as it is 4-5 fps that would be fine.

I don't think that it would be a new IS technology since it only adds 200 dollars to the price. but on the other hand why would they put the old 28-135 wiith 2 stop IS on a brand new camera. something seems off
Can anyone make out the attached lens? I don't remember one that had a button (presumably the AF/M switch) that was flush to the lens barrel and that close to the mount? The closest I can think of is the new 85mm?
could you imagine a 12mp full frame camera with todays technology? pixels almost double the size of the 5d mk2. it would take in more light then my fat step mother tanning. That would be amazing.

No! No! No! Short Supply = High Demand = High Cost = High Margin for Canon. Genius, pure genius!
It means a high margin for resellers. Canon is still selling it at bulk price and most certainly not greater than MSRP.

Well guys a update on Canonrumors.com looks like 7D is now FF 12.1 MP. Digic IV 3.9FPS
The Below is the listing from Canon rumors also is the link to the Chinese site that has it priced and specs all in Chinese. Who knows what specs will be next
"From PCHome
There is a new spec list for the 7D floating around the web.
EOS 7D
12.1mp Full Frame
DIGIC IV
3″ OLED
ISO 100-25,600 (Probably a 50ISO L Setting)
3.9fps
This is EXACTLY what I want.....which is why I'm not buying into the 5D2. I want 12 high quality megapixels, I want creamy noise free blacks, I want autofocus that doesn't leave me guessing. And most of all, I don't want video. I'm a pro photographer and want my money going for quality things I'll actually use, rather than having a device that does everything mediocre. If the 7D is a revamped 5D1 I may just buy 3. If it's $1800 with 5d focus, I'll buy it. If it's $2700 with 1 series focus I'll buy it. I'd prefer the 1 series focus.

I'm hoping the 7D is the old 5D (12ish Mpxls) but with even better noise/ISO control with Digic IV, a dust shaker on the sensor, AF microadjust and the new screen from the 50D/5DmkII.
That'll do me... oh yeah and sell it for a price which will drop to 900 after about a year so I can buy one.
I think that right now, it's become a spec-guessing festival!
The only thing I will say with some certainty (but not absolute certainty) is that it will not have Digic III processor(s). It will be Digic IV or Digic V.
