So the CTR-301 Ps, do not cause the EM interference problem with the old 5Ds like the V4s did ?
Because i have the same problem with my 5D & V4s, i've been trying to aim the signal to prevent it from reaching the sensor on the camera, but if i can just replace them with some CTR-301 Ps to solve the problem i'd be much happier.
At the cost of the new one's it ain't worth the bother of doing what you are trying. No doubt you could sell the V4s
I find the CTR-301Ps work well. They are a decent shape like the V4 although use a less convenient battery. Range outside seems to be around 30 metres. Note that on mine the test button is only operational at shorter ranges - but on the camera it works OK
I found the V4s to be a terribly tight fit on my Canon flash units (EZ models) but the camera unit was fine.
With the CTR 301P the flash units are OK - but the camera unit is very tight on my 5D - to the extent I worry about sliding it in! In fact I use a flash extension cable (an eBay model) and connect it to that. I could I suppose just get the file out - but note the trigger has no locking arrangement so you would have to make sure you didn't go too far.
The other minor problem is that the flash receiver units do not have a shoe - only a tripod type socket - so I had to buy adaptors to fit them to my lighting stand heads.
I was thinking of the CTR-301Ps then i found the RF-602s, read some good reviews, waited a bit for more reviews, i pulled the trigger on those and am crossing my fingers.
At 2.4ghz the interference shouldn't exist, and they sound quite reliable.
Now to unload the Cactus V4s.... Preferably to someone without a 5D.

I'm a Noob. What exactly do you mean by banding issues/interference. I bought a V4 set for my 5Dm2. I havent received them yet.
I don't think you will have problems with the Mark II. The banding issue is isolated to the 5d so I had to get rid of my V4s as well. The interference is also amplified when using certain lenses...the 17-40 in my case.
Banding kind of looks like the noise you would see when watching a dirty old VHS tape, but on the 5D it shows only on the top 1/5 of the photo. If you search for "What happened here" in the Post-processing & Printing section, you will find the sample I posted. Didn't want to post a link so that I don't hi-jack the thread.
