High praises for seller: White, Jack
Item: Canon EF 300mm f/4 IS
I have bought a lot and this is my best buy transaction here at FM.
The lens is exactly as described.
Jack is a pleasure to deal with. He even sent the lens via overnight shipping without any additional cost so I could have it for the weekend.
I will not hesitate to deal with him again in the future
After sending payment Dan had it packed up and shipped the same day! I will keep an eye out for other items he sells in the future. Great communication and prompt shipping, what more can you ask for! Thanks again Dan.

Fuzzy "date math" aside, within 15 minutes of becoming aware of a shipping delay, the "buyer" received the full refund he requested in lieu of reshipment that would have delivered the shipment within 24 hours of the original shipping estimate.
It was only after admitting his series of "over-reactons" and subsequent about face and wanting the item reshipped instead, did he threaten with "negative feedback" if I didn't agree to re-sell it to him again during his 2 hour whirlwind of indecisiveness. Well, I didn't resell it to him. There you have it.

Buyers side-
8 days with my cash and Item was never shipped........that should about sum it up (funds send Oct31- discovered non-shipment Nov 8th). But yet to further elaborate, seller created tracking #'s (2 days after sale) that gave me the impression package was coming to me. Only on the day of delivery did I notice the tracking seem not to change.....no "out for deliver....etc. Only after contacting FedX did I discovered that the package was never shipped. Fearing for a scam.....(tracking # created, but item was never shipped ....8 days later) I immediately emailed seller and yes contacted paypal to try and save my funds........better safe than sorry. Seller responded by email basically explaining that he left town and was not in control of the packages to the point where he didn't realize they were never shipped. Also saying he discovered this more that 12 hours prior, but didn't feel the need to email me at that time because of the East vs West time differences......an email when I discovered this would have avoided all of this mess. Also in that email the seller said he had refunded my money (of course without contacting/ hearing from me first) and that he "would have" overnight it to me. My response was O.K., then lets continue with the sale and I hope he would put himself in my shoes regarding trying to save over $700...............no response. So I sent a second email, again explaining that I was sorry about my quick reaction, and yet again asking him to continue with this transaction, I even gave him my telephone # and said "lets talk"...........and again no
response. Email #3 I reminded him of the fact his lack of responsibility (but I worded it nicer) in shipping (or not) this package, and the follow up ( or lack of) is what caused this whole mess. And still I apologized and also reminded him I have completed all my duties as a buyer, and asked him if he would live up to this deal and just get it in the mail............again, no response. 4th mail, basically told him to never mind that I have found another 30D and was buying it. I also told him I would be posting negative feedback not only due to the shipping error, but also the fact that he REFUSED to return my emails to let me know what was going on.
Fred Miranda was also contacting regarding this matter. I have bought and sold many, many items on this board & the Canon board and this is the first transaction I have ever had a problem with. Yet if you run this sellers name you will find this is not the first "shipping problem" he has had.
The bottom line here is, if your going to sell here then take responsibility for your shipping. And if you create or have an error then don't hold it against the party that is trying to protect their funds. Regardless of how much of a good guy your are, if you have someones hard earned money in your paypal account and 8 days later you still have their item, then I would expect a negative reaction. Then to not "Man up" to your mistakes by refusing to return emails........well lets just say (being very P.C) is not very business like.
Also on a side note- I was in contact with another potential buyer of his on another board, that person has told me this seller came up with some very strange reasons (he would have to charge tax) if that buyer wanted to pick the item up. Another strange story......IMO. Needless to say that buyer also backed away from it. Buy at your own risk.
