The sharp regions are oversharpened, and maybe that's responsible for it-- hard to tell at this size. It goes from crunchy-sharp to blurry in a single pixel, which would be impossible in an unaltered photo even at this size. See the sharpening halos around the plant, etc.? I always use selective sharpening, but sometimes you need to use more finesse. In any event, it is a nice photo, it just looks a little weird because of the border between the sharp and blurry regions.
