The opportunity to lose pay for a full week is tempting.
Or the glass is half full, and you'll have a free vacation in Cuba for a week.
Got an opportunity to shoot some serious portfolio stuff.
All in exchange for 1 day of shooting and 1 day of post.
Damn I wish I was an "established" wedding photog.
"established" between quotes 'cause the value of an all-incl trip to cuba nowadays is what? ... $750 CAN if you don't search too hard for deals?
Depending on your photography style you could spend well over 1 day for post processing work though. I spend a lot of time on each one of my photos so my post work dwarfs the amount of time I spend shooting.
That's what I thought. The whole point was to make it easier for cuban living in the US to help out relatives back home. I'm the first one on a plane when they make that restriction-ease for everyone. Until then I'm stuck looking at photos of the place.
I'm a Canadian and a photographer who is interested. Here are a few relevant points:
1. Have wedding experience.
2. Have travel experience.
3. Have professional gear.
4. Am a mature, responsible adult.
If you'd like to pursue this further please reply to my email address.
A, dang. I'm free that week - and it would be an awesome experience. Oh well. If I can figure out a way around the whole travel thing... I also live only, say, 150 miles from cuba!
For those who don't know or never been to Cuba, September is the worst month to go there. It's the prime Hurricane season. in 2008 a big one hit Cuba around time as well. You book them now, and then when September comes in, they will cancel it and you'll be left with no income. I can't understand why people plan their wedding around the hurricane season. It's like playing a Russian rulette!!
