p.2 #1 · Canadian photographer needed for Cuba

For those who don't know or never been to Cuba, September is the worst month to go there. It's the prime Hurricane season. in 2008 a big one hit Cuba around time as well. You book them now, and then when September comes in, they will cancel it and you'll be left with no income. I can't understand why people plan their wedding around the hurricane season. It's like playing a Russian rulette!!

It is a poor time of year to go .. I went in September for 10 days and had 3 straight days of rain and as you said hurricanes are a worry as well.

Still, I put my name in the hat ..

You are right! But it's cheap then - that's why they do it. Like really, really cheap compared to other times of the year. I guess that's why it's just as well that I book a cuba/dominican/bahama wedding or a florida wedding - either one would be canceled by the same hurricane.

It's not that cheap. Sometimes the savings are maybe $200-300. Eg. 3* hotel in September can be as cheap as $450pp taxes in. The same resort for July or February goes to about $650-700 Is it really worth it? I mean, weddings only happen once and if it's canceled, you may not even get your money back! Plus all the hassle and stuff. I can understand a vacation during that time, but not planning a wedding. Especially if you are inviting other people to go with you.

I don't know if it's worth it - you'd have to ask the brides. Can be worth it for a vacation, though.

I personally don't know why anyone would want to visit the tropics during september. The hurricanes are the least of your problems - the heat is generally unbearable.
