Today I was brave and went through the weeds into the marshy marsh!
Yes it was wet and muddy but I did not care. I can even get closer but I am a bit scared so I will take baby steps every day. I do not want to frighten them during this delicate time.
Very nice Noelle! Be careful! Bog can be a tricky thing to get stuck in! I've lost tennis shoes before walking in mud! Haha! Anyway great shot! Looks like they are busy nesting away. I wonder how much a 1.4TC would help bring you closer. Can't wait to see more!
By the way, I got nothing for you today, or yesterday. Its been raining.

Conrad: maybe you can do another DIY project and build one of those osprey contraptions in your backyard...if you build it, they will come!
I need to build SOMETHING for sure. This little lady's leaving me in the dust. I've got nothing! Just some underexposed-backlit-crappy-as-hell harrier shots I'm too embarrased to post. Haha!

Right, Wing, I am sure Conrad's neighbours would be very supportive of that conservation initiative.
I think it would be better for Conrad to flood his backyard and keep it boggy thru the summer. That would very likely attract all kinds of water and marsh birds.

Mui excellente
Now, the next step is to get sufficient daily supplies of old fish which needs to be dumped into the pool. I guarantee you, it will not be long before the coveted Bald Eagle start to visit your backyard in droves. Remember Homer Alaska Bald Eagle farm ?

Yup, you can even practice your MIF shots (Mosquitoes In Flight)

Ahhh.......MIF....the pinnacle of wildlife photography.
As I was tracking this bug, a stupid swallow showed up out of nowhere and ruined the shot.
(Kids and Noelle, don't try this at home because MIF photography might lead to premature failure of your camera and lens USM burnout.)

Lovely shot, Petkal. Shot with your 60mm Macro no doubt?

Wing, that bug in flight was shot with the 200 f/2.8 prime.
I had always wondered why my photos don't stack up, I've been doing it all wrong these years, you've shown me the light, Petkal. Telephoto's for bugs and Macros for BIF.
