Damn... you make me want to get one Noelle. Sometimes I like being forced to perfect my technique with the meager center point only (there's something very satifying and zen-like when I get a good shot). Geez I sound like a hippy. But other times (when I miss the shot of course) I wish I had more AF points.

I love my 1DII...LOVE IT! I bought it a couple of weeks ago after I bought my 400
I have it set to 45AF points ..... still trying to see what Custom Functions I like the best
If anyone else with this camera that shoots BIF can chime in on what CF work best for them it would be great!

Conrad.... I know how you feel. I have a 20D and two 5D's and now I also have the 1DII
I was shooting BIF with the 20D and 5D and feeling the same way....missing alot of shots. Now that I have the MII I have so many more keepers and I am quite satisfied (for now)
The camera is like a machine gun...8FPS!! Gota love that.
STOP IT!!!! You're totally baiting me to look in the Buy and Sell Forum! Haha!!! I'm still trying to pay off my 85mm f1.2 II I just got. Grr....

@Noelle. How much did you pick up your 1DII for? I am so wanting a 1D but also want it to be 15 mpix for cropping. If they put a better AF in the (next) 60D, that would be sweet!

$1200 and it came with two batteries
I agree...... the ONLY drawback to this camera is the MP...I am used to the resolution on my 5D and being able to really crop nicely
Hell ya! If it was a 13mp even it would be great! I wonder what is involved in taking the 1DII and tansplanting the sensor from an older 5D and creating...Franken D! Haha!!! Ok... sorry... too much coffee today already....

Sorry.... I have a friend who made me want the 1DII so badly that I had to buy it!

Well stop it... I've got to stop this insane collection of all things Canon. Hehe... I think I will do just what Wing is pining for, wait for a 1D with a slightly higher mp count WITH the 8+fps AND 45+AF points, then sell my 50D to help fund THAT purchase.... (canon are you listening?)

Wing, what are you shooting with?
That's a great deal for the 1DII. I'm using the 40D which I bought new with rebates about a year ago just before the 50D came out. I'm dreaming about the next 1D4 which should get 15+ Mpix but unfortunately and inevitably it will come with video which I don't want and which I think adds to the complexity of the camera that can result in more bugs and potential breakdowns. I say dreaming because I will not be about to afford it. So the next best thing would be a 60D with better AF, however, I'd imaging Canon will only toss in video and a few inconsequential additions.
Its funny... I'm at work, and I've gotten nothing done. Just browsing FM and chatting with you guys. Sheesh! (Note to self: when it comes time to start my own business, limit computer use to just MS Outlook, Word and Excel )

Well if it's a photography business that will be Lightroom, PS and a million other fun expensive programs we HAVE to have
