They are a Crocosmia hybrid of the Crocosmia luciferans and the Crocosmia pearsei...a small perennial genus in the Iris family Iridaceae from the Cape Floristic Region of South Africa that flower early in the summer and on into the fall ...I find the unique primordial shape of the buds give the flower a mystical pose.
