7th From Germany we hear of a comment at a major dealership, concerning a new camera to be announced -after- PMA.
The 'new' 1D will supposedly be 16MP and full frame.
Whilst most people reserve a degree of skepticism for comments via dealers, it's worth noting that this news lost them a 5D2 sale.
On todays general rumours page we noted a suggestion of a Canon announcement on the 25th. Comments we had last week suggested that it would be Autumn before a new 1D would be seen.
Although the time interval isn't right the TIME is RIGHT considering the Nikon and Sony offerings. Also, despite, the recession/depression, the only thing that might stimulate new pro (1D) body sales would be a new product. Certainly Canon has the technology (better LCD more MP, 2x Digic IV) which they has used in the 50D.
Whilst I agree that a 1DMkIV could come at any time, why not announce such an important new product at PMA?? If it's going to be the 25th, why not at least introduce a teaser now?
I hope that none of those predicted stats are true. I don't want Full frame and I don't want 16 megapixels. I want 1.3 crop 12-14 megapixels and an AF system that works. I wlll be a happy camper.

The Northlight website, has rumours like this every month or week The 1D4 should have been released every month for the last 1½ year according to their website. (IMO) that website is one of the most useless sites you can read
It stands to reason that the first real tell-tale sign that a new camera is coming is that the "old" one is no longer available. Remember how that was the case with 5D before the advent of 5D MkII? Now you can object that 50D was released and 40D was not discontinued. But I cannot see Canon segmenting even more at that end of the market, keeping IDMkIII alive while relasing IDMkIV.
So, any signs that IDMkIII is no longer in stock?
