Twok, the last shot you posted of the Japanese lady in front of a vending machine is great. The colors are vivid and the image has a very nice rendition to it. But the first one shot you posted on page 5 was.... hmmm, different. What did you do different between the two shots?
Not really sure, the one on this page has better lighting and exposure, I guess? Other than that both were shot at f/1.8 with the camera settings the same other than shutter speed.
I can see why the photode guys call it nervous bokeh. However the contrast on this lens looks fantastic. And i love the way it seems to seperate things out from the background (even with the less than ideal bokeh). Looking forward to receiving mine on tuesday and comparing it with my 35 f/2 pre-Ai.
The sharpness and contrast of this lens is really unreal for a $200 prime. Too bad it seems to be at the cost of bokeh. I certainly will be hanging on to mine since the bokeh problems are only really noticeable in certain situations. Everytime I check out a shot at f/1.8 I'm a bit flabbergasted at the sharpness. Unfortunately, sharpness ain't everything.
Hopefully Adorama ships some out soon, i'm getting antsy! I just sold my 30 1.4 for this bad boy. I hadn't actually attempted to use my 30 1.4 in months, because my copy just could not focus. At all.. Every one in 4 shots was a beautiful looking image, but 3 out of 4 were just out of focus and plain unuseable. I am looking forward to this lens.
Wow TWoK I did have a case of NAS but after viewing your last few shots on pg 5 I've decided even if I get this lens I won't be able to take shots as good as those so I might as well stick with my old crap!
... okay actually not exactly true. When the next big major chain closes (like circuit city) I'll be like a hawk trying to find one of those... oh and I'll be searching the buy/sell forum on an hourly basis trying to find that little lens. NAS has got me again, noooooooo!

I shot in a several hour sustained downpour with my D700 and only the 35 DX on my camera. I made no attempts to keep the water off of anything. Guess what is still working like a champ? No filters, nothing. It is freaking great!
I can testify to the rain that night. d90 isn't sealed....so mine stayed in bag when outside when I was out and about that night.
I keep forgetting to check out the D90's sealing. I bet it is better than the 5D. The D70s has gaskets in several places and I'm guessing the D90 would have been fine in the rain.
Does fine in light rain. Took a pic or 3 of an exhaust shop I need to post up on our other forum with geotoag. One of them places a person might pass by cause a shop with the latest and greatest this place ain't. I did. But, old boy does some magic with a torch and a long bitch bar I'll tell you what. Was a slight drizzle that day. Another bene for lens hoods, keeps the front of lens from getting some rain.
Hey guys-looks a bit different than the Japan, that i lived in 45 years ago. I had a Canon 7 with .95 lens then, plus others to play with.
Take care

I looked over the D90 and I wouldn't even take that thing in a light rain. It has NO sealing. The D70s does have a bit of sealing.
