I may have already used all my gear money for the year aside from the funds I'm setting aside to rent a super telephoto for a trip to Yellowstone & the Tetons
Gear already purchased:

Gear I potentially may purchase this year:
Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS or other comparable high quality telephoto (Canon, can I have a 100-300mm f/4L IS USM, pretty please)
a wide angle Olympus Zuiko prime (21mm, 24mm or 28mm) with OM-to-EOS adapter
A better backup/second body, probably a gently used 40D
On the wishlist but doubtful:
Canon 35mm f/1.4L or other comparable 35mm prime (Sigma, can I have a 35mm f/1.X EX HSM (X=4,6 or 8) on par quality wise with the 50mm f/1.4 EX, pretty please)
1. 580EX II to add to my 550's
2. I am not sure what else. I already have the 135L and 35L and others.
3. I am sure I will think of something to add. :^) I always do.
1) Either Canon EF 24-70L or new Sigma 24-70/2.8 HSM, waiting for the reviews.
2) Canon EF 85MM f/1.2 L
3) Canon G10 or Panasonic LX3
4) Canon or Sigma 15mm fisheye.
5D II for sure, 16-35 II probably, 24 1.4 II possibly. And an Epson 3800 just got delivered.
Should there be a FF 1D replacement, I'll probably skip the 5D II and buy that.
The 17 TS-E is for 2010 when the price has come down a bit.
edit june '09: the 16-35 II is in the pocket; I'll get the 5D II at the end of summer and I've added a 70-200/4 IS to the wish-list. Probably this summer too.
this year started with a lot of changing... I sold a lot of things I wasn't using so much and purchased a used 1Dmk2N and a new 100-400IS...hoping to find a good copy!
my wish list is also for 24-105IS and 17-40 but I think for the moment I'll be happy with a 28-105 3,5-4,5II hoping for the future...
Already bought too much this year already, started with the 5D II that was prebooked. Saw the trend over here in europe that the prices was rising pretty much so bought the 16-35 II & 14 2.8 II from a store that had old stock left. This week i jumped on the 200 2.0 the last one available in scandinavia for the old price i beleive, the day after the price jumped with approx $1300. The only thing i'm planning to buy now is a 580EX II and if a 1DIV is announced i will prebook it.
