Damn
This is really bad!
Had been eyeing a 200/2L for a few weeks, priced at $5800, even bundled with a EF1,4x.
Just checked and realized they sold that very lens and jacket up price to $7400 for new stock.
The US dollar has increased it's value by 50% since mid last year. It seems the US doing the right thing with the economics compared to our banana republic.
I'm out of here, no more buying stuff, I'm gonna sit in a dark corner, sulking

Even better, gray import at 5100 plus shipping and VAT will end up around $6600... it's bad but not as bad as the local price.
Could do a mini-weekend in NYC, do a local pick up,and still have pocket change for a hamburger!
Even if I save my pennies for the rough days, they will be pretty much worthless with the current demise of our currency... so it seems better spend it all, go down, but in style!
Got a 5D2 (that was last year). Nothing I'm interested in right now. Only way for me to make a new purchase is if Canon comes out with a new 24-70IS or 70-200/2.8IS.

Why is everyone talking about a new 2.8 IS
That lens is so good as it is, I can't think of any reason to update it... Now if we're talking that fuzz ball Nikon version....

I want panasonic to release that 20mm f/1.7 pancake for my G1, pretty happy with my Canon setup as it is. If a 1D4 comes out, I'll consider a used 1D3 at some point.

I got laid of from my nice auto. engineering job (damn Hyundai buyers...), wanna buy a 400 5.6 so I can make my Mustang payment?
There's a lot more people making minimum wage who will probably never buy a new car than Hyundai could ever make. But, the republicans got what they wanted--a workforce working for peanuts, buying from the only suppliers they can afford. China, India and wallyworld.
I got kicked out of my well-paid job in the steel mills, and my pension got cut in half by PBGC. Now, my 1991 Ford has to last another 18 years because I simply cannot afford even a Hyundai.
Camera gear is way below the horizon, and I will probably be selling it off the way things are going.
In order:
1DIII (check)
35L (check)
Tamron 1.4x TC (check)
Kenko Tubes (check)
TTL PW's
Lowepro Harness System
1DIV or 1DsIII
24-70IS (?)
Depending on funds, price fluctuation and availability, of course...
2010 is the year of the 500/4
