The 50L wide open. Really really love this lens. The only lens I've had a greater love affair with was the Voigtlander 35mm 1.2, which on a Leica M8 functioned essentially the same as a 50.
When it does work, it does so very nicely does it not?
Actually in the short time that I've got this lens I quickly went full circle from happy - to doubtful - to happy happy. From f/1.4 to f/2 it feels like it is peaking, compared to its slight slower sibling that makes a real start from f/2 onward.
One of my test samples, old 5D, cropped a little and wide open. Regardless of artistic value, I believe this lens will become one of my steady picks from now on.

PS. still love your examples of the 24L2, which itch in my memory

Yes. I wanted to contribute some of the "make up sex" moments, which are great, so that people don't accuse me of only having bad things to say about it. But don't get me wrong - I still have plenty of bad to say about this lens.
By no means is this a formal portrait.... this is a test shot. I had to micro adjust the focus as the lens is known to front focus. It is now set to 13 backwards on the 5D2.
Have a look at the full res version... shot in RAW... sharpening applied in Lightroom 3 beta set to 68.... no additional sharpening. The lens now hits @ F/1.4 on up. This was shot at F/5.6 Again... just testing the lens after the adjustments.
