Canon EF 1.8 50 mm II at f1.8 or 2.0 on 20D and 1D III
Great lens for children portraits, but not as accurately/reliably focusing as EF 1.8 85 mm and sometimes slightly problematic bokeh when backgrounds are busy such as branches or bushes.

Well, it's kind of cheating. It was stopped down to f/2.8, and I think I used a studio strobe. But yes, it is really good from f/2.5 and amazing from f/4.
Seems like this 50mm thread resurfaces every few weeks...
