All of these were shot with the ef 50mm f/1.8, on 3 different crop sensor bodies... 300D, 400D and 40D

first one, my daughter, shot on my old 300D ('OG rebel') wide open at 1.8

My son shot with natural window light, 5D classic, 50mm 1.4. I think it was shot at F2.8 but I dont remeber and Im to lazy to look up the orginal meta.

Pics above demonstrate how good 50mm lenses are. I use mine increasingly on a 40D for model portfolios in a studio....almost too sharp at times!
