I was not making statement or displaying a story.

Joe, every image is a statement. It may not be a coherent statement, or a profound statement - or it may be. It may be a broad, generalized statement or it may be a personal statement that no one but a few (or the one) will ever understand. It may be a meaningful as "I believe this to be what life is about", or as trite as "look at the pretty flower". But most assuredly every image is a statement of some sort. And nearly every single great image starts out as a well thought out, well crafted, meaningful statement - even the ones of pretty flowers.
I haven't yet read all these comments, just the first few.
Well ... you asked for opinions did you Joe? I smiled when I first saw this. I thought, yes I did, that you posted this tongue in cheek? Some kind of wry dig at, against, technical and artistic sensibilities.
But now I have the horrid sense that the picture was serious. Say it isn't so!
I think ... and this is my honest first impression ... that it shows several things about the person who posted it. (if we be serious that is) One ... never passed art appreciation, nor aesthetic class. Two ... mistakenly used one of these new grain enhancement filters twice over - and put the company out of business after people saw the results. Or did you find a new way to enable iso 128,000 on a D2H?
Hmmmm. Now I know you will take this in the tongue and cheek way attitude as intended ... exactly as I'm you must be posting the picture in. Ahhh, that Joe. Must be having fun on a slow day. Brilliant.
Overall it's in the next morning excrement category after a hot vindaloo but I particularly enjoyed the hamster getting ready to piss on the twig with the blue flower and the little pixie on the top left.
On a serious note, the bison on itself would look pretty good in B&W and a heavy vignette.
No offence meant, you've got some really nice stuff on your site but why you think this should in any way be associated with you I do not know.

You have done it so many times Joe , if people say anything other than nice picture then they have to be ready for a salvo from you. it gets pretty tiring. I comment positively on your work when it is good and some of it really is, but if you want critique you should live with it if it is negative and perhaps learn something from the collective "wisdom" of this board. I know it has helped me in that way over the years. This one is like a bad acid trip and perhaps with a lot of work could be an album cover for a hippie band or something. Go for strange and different stuff , but know that some of it just is going to be a success ...Show more →

From a technical point of view, not a lot to be said, but I happen to somewhat like it, artistic and very different.
Thanks very much, Epuja
