Here is the story: Just bought this lens on BS forum from member 'Seaneboyee' for $200. I received the lens in perfect NON-WORKING condition! The AF motor does NOT work and this was undisclosed to me. Member 'Seaneboyee' will NOT stand behind the lens or offer me any assistance, isn't that wonderful. NONE, ZIP too bad buddy.
So, perhaps someone with a Canon repair voucher could benefit from this loss of mine. The lens body is perfect, the glass at both ends is pristine with no marks and not a single spot of dust inside. Contacts are clean and both Canon caps are included.
Asking $200 offers appreciated. Can you tell I am not real happy about this If you purchase this lens and it is anything less than I tell you or show you, I will accept it back, as I would at anytime for anyone.
Could this work for someone at $150 that has a voucher

*** A note to all......I have had several offers to be 'given' a repair voucher and I sincerely appreciate those extremely kind offers, really I do. I am looking more so to make someone else a good deal from my bad deal by them using the voucher and making me an offer on the lens. try cleaning the contacts. If it still doesn't work, just take the $100 voucher from Chad. Maybe ask him to ship the lens round trip for you too....he doesn't mind

Karl, I have seen the Canon 50mm 1.4 "stuck" before. Try to clean contact and manual focus a little bit, it may work. My copy is OK (knock on wood) but my friend's copy did not focus before and after a while it magically works again.
As for the seller, he/she should at least let the buyer knows if there is a problem ... this is very irresponsible.

I have a voucher too that you can have if you want, I just have to find it first... shall PM you tonight if possible.
This is a KNOWN issue with this lens and I shall never buy a 50/1.4 from Canon unless they completely redesign this piece of junk. I have had 2 copies with exact same issue and the last one I sold here with full disclosure.
