This is my last post of pictures for the year 2008. I want to take this opportunity to SINCERELY THANK SO MANY OF YOU who have helped me learned and improved over the months. It all started here in this N&W forum that many of you had inspired me into N&W photography. It is also because of your continual support/comments/suggestions/critiques that I have learned so much. I do greatly appreciate all this.
I am posting these last four pictures of the year 2008. It is a Pelagic Cormorant, not a very pretty byrd but I seldom see these byrds posted. I hope you like them.
I am hoping next year will be even better. I wish ALL OF YOU A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Dan, you have come so far in such a short time, I hope to see your shots for a long time!!
We do post these guys and lately there has been a rush of great shots of them. That said, these shots fit right in with the best, maybe even setting some new standards! Ooh the last shot!!
These are great shots, Dan. Well exposed and composed, with fine detail, pleasing bg and color. A testimony of your progress that I've been watching with pleasure and admiration for your determination.

Well done buddy
All my best to you and yours.

Hi Tim,
Sorry to disappoint you but "I'll be back.."
Thank you so very much buddy. You are too kind.
I usually see the other Cormorant such as double crested, etc... but rarely see the Pelagic Cormorant posted. Maybe I am wrong...that's not uncommon.
Dan, let me extend a hand shake to you for being such a good sport and for your contributions to the forum and your outstanding progress
Your post here sure makes me proud to see what can be done with the dedication you have and it pushes me more and more, that's all good and I am happy to see you happy with your progress!

Hi Karl,
My contributions to the forum.......hmmmm....maybe..............not. haha
Thanks for the nice/kind words Karl. Your usual nits are what made me progress. Note, there is no concrete in this picture this time.

Hi Socrate,
Many thanks for all your help.
I guess trying to squeeze in as much of the very little time in between work and family to shoot maybe considered " determination" or " addition to N&W Photography".
Thanks again for the words of encouragement.

Dan,
I really love the first image. Even though the bird is not one of the most attractive all the aspects of the image you seem to have nailed - exposure, sweet BG, pose & head turn, framing, heck even the perch looks good . Ok, one nit pick might be the dark spot in the BG just right of its foot. But oh well, it really is very nice image! The lighting an detail in #4 look great also.
You're on a roll here Danny boy Excellent stuff love that smooth bg! you exposed that sucker right on
You're a great addition to the board...even when you shoot Nikon we still love ya' buddy
Happy New Year to you and your family

Wow!! What a way to go out!!! Gorgeous portraits Dan, simply beautiful in all respects. Excellent techs on all and I feel like I can reach in and touch the tip of his bill in #3
Happy New Year Dan and can't wait to see your work in the new year
