I really love the first image. Even though the bird is not one of the most attractive all the aspects of the image you seem to have nailed - exposure, sweet BG, pose & head turn, framing, heck even the perch looks good . Ok, one nit pick might be the dark spot in the BG just right of its foot. But oh well, it really is very nice image! The lighting an detail in #4 look great also.

Thank you very much. Nit picks are perfectly good for me. In this case, I guess it's not too difficult to clone out that dark blob.

I haven't been around that long so can't relate to all the improvement being mentioned...
All I've ever seen from you is always good stuff... but I'll take their word for it.
I'm still trying to get up close and personal with some of these guys... no luck yet.
These are excellent... super sharp detail, perfectly exposed, great eye contact, very well composed, beautiful bokeh and BG's.
3 and 4 are my favorites, which is silly cuz they're all very good.
Very nice work Dan, looking forward to a year full of your wonderful Nikon images.
