Hi all,
I teach high school digital photography full time and I have a student who is looking for an older, used DSLR, preferably a Canon. She has been looking on craigslist, but I thought I would try here so she could get a more reliable used camera.
A little about her...she is one of my star students and a senior this year. Her family immigrated from Eastern Europe and she and her family are very low on funds. She has been accepted to Brooks for next year so is planning on pursuing photography. She's been doing some awesome work, but is at the point where she needs her own camera to progress. You can see some of her work here
My plan is to buy the camera myself from someone and have her pay me back over time.
sooo....anyone have an older 10d, 20d...even a D60
Nikon would work as well, maybe a D70 or so...
with a basic lens would be great

also, on a side not if anyone has any older DSLRs they would like to donate to my photography program(tax deductible), I could really use a few more loaner DSLR's that my students could take home...I currently have 2 300d's that I bought myself and 2 D30's that were donated by a very generous FM user, but they are in constant use.

Just as a note, you can use the 18-55 kit lenses on these onlder dSLRs by removin ghte backlplastic bit, fliling ithe ring off, and reassembling. Once you do one, it's easy. No better value for a student than the kit lens for someone on fredmiranda for $50
I got a flawless XT and kit lens for my neighbors kid for $250 on ebay. You should be able to find that or a 10D.
And hey, its christmas, so I would like to donate $25 towards her camera via paypal to you if that's kosher and I get a receipt for the donation.
I have a like new D60 in box with all the stuff that I was going to convert to IR but never got to it. Would sell for $200 + s/pp. (I paid $500 for it)

I have a Canon Rebel Ti in great condition I just got done using in my college photography class. Film printing i found out is just not for me, too much wasted time lol If your interested I'd let it go for $65 shipped.

Just to let everyone know Hallbert(steven) donated two D30's to me over the summer for my program as well as a few lenses, chargers, etc. I really can't thank him enough.

If anyone has any older DSLR's they would like donate or sell at a low cost, please let me know...they will get a lot of use by my students
Sean could you use a 28-90 lens for her? Its a bit slow but will get a bit more reach and doesnt have to be modified to fit on a 10D. I dont teach photography but I do mentor a few yearbook kids at various schools I shoot at for the paper. I buy gear now and then and donate it to them. I ended up with this lens by buying it on my own, but used it for its use, and now I dont need it. Let me know.
Wow.....I am so impressed with the kindness on this forum....Steven Hallbert is to be commended for his kindness.....this is why FM is such a great forum, people like Steven are worth their weight in gold!!!!!
i have a 20D body that im looking to sell for $300 +shipping. i know i have the box and pretty sure all the manuals and cds and stuff. Not sure about the amount of clicks on it.
