Wow, such a variety of amazing and beautiful shots from everyone! This is only my second post where I'm actually including an image. I caught a glimpse of this tree through the bushes while driving down a dirt road in the Rincon Mountains of southern Arizona. I backed up the truck to get a second look, then parked and climbed down into the wash to photograph it.
Thanks for kicking this one off John. Some marvellous images posted already. After a good deal of consideration I have voted this one as my best of 2008. It's a shot of Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland, taken looking west towards Skye:
What a beautiful and inspiring variety!!!
Thank you very much guys for sharing these!
and special thanks for the starter Realkuhl!!!
I didnt capture much lately, and still waiting to get a new body as well, but here is one from earlier this year, when times were better (photography wise), tough choise though...
Mine may not be in keeping with the style here, but it is still my favorite. It was a color digital infrared shot of a hay field in Eastern Missouri from this summer. Comments, jabs, slings, and arrows all welcome.

Although I have a few great landscape-centric trips lined up, none of them will happen before the end of 2008. I think this is my favourite from this year:
Lovely work by everyone! This image was taken this summer in Ohio. It's very hard too pull off interior forest shots but this one just seemed to come together and had a real primitive feel to it.
