I don't know why, but it's not working with Canon 1.4 TC.
The shutter freezes and I get an error message....

Any idea?

You'd need to tape the contacts. The Canon converter is expecting and EF lens to be attached so that it can record the EXIF.

That picture was taken right before the mount conversion.
So, you are seeing the FD to EOS adapter on the mount, which is no longer there.

I haven't attempt to take off the tripod ring, but I'm pretty sure it can be taken off...
