This is my favorite portrait shot from this year. I'm surprised it came out as well as it did. Overhead incandescent light with window light coming from the left side of the room, shot at ISO 3200. My son Kevin, getting a haircut in the laundry room. He had been crying (Mom was yelling at him because he wouldn't sit still). I started telling him how handsome he was looking, and that brought a smile to his face.

This my favorite interior assignment shot so far this year ... and certainly ONE of my best but I'd never say it's THE best (that's a really hard selection to make). Really stunning home overall. I always feel privileged to be allowed to enter homes like these and take pictures of them all day long. What an honor. Shot with a 1Ds II and 16-35 f/2.8L Mark 1.
